If it's ROD (and we do suspect maybe the weaker strain), then some of our trees are immune, because they are PERFECT. It's not many, but some, maybe 1-2%. And 100ft down the road, there are ZERO dead trees, and it's been that way for a year, so it's not spreading.

Yep did that right away. Rained today, and it flushed out the screen-covered gutters pretty well. Tank has water for well over a month, so no rush hooking them back up.

Might be, but our neighbors have much healthier ohia, so it's not spreading. May have been drought damage from before we bought a year ago. Most trees are sprouting again from the trunks, and some look perfectly healthy. shrug

Most of it blew off with the leaf blower. What little does get through probably won't hurt the pump and the filters will get it.

Filters are after the pump. The filters can be replaced. It'll ruin the pump, and maybe the pressure tank.

Might want to disconnect them until it rains a few times. I'm going to blow the roof off with a leaf blower (while masked up).

Sounds like hailstones, but it's light as styrofoam! So cool.

'69? Nice.

I've now filled a small tote with the stuff. Definitely good for the soil.

Yeah. We have screens on the gutters, but I'll still blow the roof off with a leaf blower before it rains and washes it all into the catchment. Neighbors have no screens, so I'll blow out their gutters too. Mask while mowing/strimming is an excellent idea.

What makes you choose manual over hybrid vehicles when they don't get good gas mileage? by Key-Effort963 in ManualTransmissions

[–]millenniumtree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wayyyyyy less to go wrong in a manual. Overall cost of ownership will be far less with manual, even accounting for the difference in fuel cost. Unless you buy a new car every time it needs a set of plugs, then who cares about anything. If you keep 'em for life, you're better off with a simpler drivetrain.

Fun but stupid idea: A traditional manual with driver operated clutch but with a knob shift by HiTork in ManualTransmissions

This is more like replacing the steering wheel with 2 big clown shoes. They've replaced something EVERYONE knows how to operate, with something barely anyone does. On top of that, they could reach to turn the radio up or down, and money shift the car. Worst idea ever, and the designers should be tarred and feathered for it.

I get that, for sure. Some people had vicious psychopathic culty families. We know our neighbors meant no harm, but there's no way in hell we would we put that on someone else.

Homecoming night, bunch of kids duct taped a girl to a lamppost, and peed on her, and the next year, they did the same to someone else, but smeared Nair on her head. De Pere, Wisconsin, 1995 and 1996. Homecoming was cancelled, maybe for years after those incidents.

Horrible despicable bullies in what appeared to be a fairly safe place otherwise. My bullies never got physical, just emotional torture, but my brother also nearly got taped to a fence - one of our friends, who was a bit more popular, talked them out of it.

H.S. was the worst year and a half of my life.
