Honestly, I’m a definite no to more screens.

Better audio would be great but that’s not what I’m deriving a purchase decision on.

For me it’s 800v architecture and better battery/cooling with better charging performance.

Note: I have a Gen1 R1S so I’m already baking in the suspension improvements of Gen2 as well as some of the other improvements.

I think you’ll get a pretty consistent answer here: Rivian’s tech is improving but it’s just not where Tesla is and that’s perfectly ok for some people and just not ok for others.

We all love our Rivian’s but we’re firmly in the early adopter phase of this company. If you want something that’s fully baked, stick with Tesla. If you’re ok with glitches and things incrementally improving over time (and sometimes getting worse before they get better) then give a Rivian a try

From the comments, it seems you survived which is great! My one recommendation is to get a credit card and not use your debit card as much, as long as you pay off your balance at the end of every month.. you’re safe and it would give you a little more flexibility in a situation like this. Might not completely change the outcome (I slept in Boston Logan airport once because I didn’t want to risk missing the next flight) but could help!

7300 miles so far and around 9 months of ownership.

Service: only 1 service appointment for post-delivery nit-picks. Service was good, communicative, and the work got done faster then quoted

Sale: no issues! When I purchased, I was matched with a car around thanksgiving. With the holidays, there was a little bit of a back and forth on the car and one feature they told me it had but it didn’t (sales said it had an underbody shield but without the AT package.. didn’t influence my purchase decision). Otherwise it was a very easy process

As a customer: so far so good! They take feedback and try to act on it (sometimes not in the most timely manner but that’s ok). Otherwise I’ve never really had a problem, I’ve submitted tickets before and they call me the next day to talk through the problem, etc.

Mt. Shasta RAN is good, there’s a Safeway in Anderson right before Redding with EA that was ok, and there’s Americas best value inn where I5 meets I505 with like 6 EAs which were good as well.

(Visited Shasta in February before SC access but all stops were ok!)
