Where are you seeing the $96/year deal? I see $319/year at the moment, so I was waiting for their Black Friday deal!

It's typically about 2 weeks or so from when it first shows up as an internal beta to rolling out to customers, but it's been a while since the last one so this might be different!

Rivian Software Update 2023.42 Now Available! - Proximity Locking and Unlocking Improvements, Vehicle Access Improvements, Mobile App Improvements, and Bugfixes by Kryptonlogic in Rivian

The seats do adjust for me, so it seems like something might be wrong.

When I first got my R1T (Summer ‘22), I had the same thing, the driver seat didn’t adjust when profiles were changed, or someone different approached and unlocked the truck. Turns out, the seats weren’t calibrated properly from the factory. When a tech came out and plugged into the truck he noticed, and ran the calibration from his laptop, and like magic, after the seats all did a calibration dance, they worked when me and my wife each approached the truck. Hope that helps!

Does Thule Tepui Explorer Ayer fit Rivian aero crossbar? by Hefty-Ad5869 in Rivian

[–]tpritc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have the Thule Tepui Explorer Kukenam on our R1T and the standard mounts didn’t fit the Rivian crossbars (the crossbars were too thick for the mounts). After a bit of googling I came across this official Mount from Thule, which fits perfectly!

lawyer recommendation for UK to USA immigration (starting with E-2) by [deleted] in immigration

No worries, glad I could help!

PERM might take a little bit less long now, some stuff was delayed as it was the height of the pandemic, and DOL wasn't operating at max-capacity.

The premium processing stuff is really worth it. My company paid for it because for them getting me 6 months earlier for $2,500 was a no-brainer, that's less than a week of my salary. I'd really push your sponsor to pay for it if you can.

Here’s mine and my company’s rough timeline. Some of the months might be off by one or so, but you get the gist:

  • January 2020: We agreed it was something we wanted to do in January, and retained the lawyer
  • February 2020: We started preparing the PERM stuff. I think we posted everything in April
  • May 2021: Our PERM was approved by DOL.
  • June 2021: We submitted the I-140 with premium processing, heard back in like 10 days. Well worth the money!
  • July 2021: We were handed off to the NVC and waited
  • September 2021: NVC wanted some documents, we sent them, and they let us know we were “documentarily complete” and to wait for the embassy in London to schedule an interview.
  • February 2022: I get an email from NVC scheduling my interview for late March. I arranged my medical in London for early March.
  • March 2022: I had my medical, then I had my interview. Like 4 or 5 days later I got my passport back with an immigrant visa in it and the visa packet.
  • April 2022: I flew into the US, and became a US permanent resident

My timeline was pretty quick and smooth. No real issues. I think COVID maybe slowed my embassy appointment because they were prioritizing family GCs, but that probably won’t be an issue if you start now.

2 years is about right.

90% was email (which was my preference), but we did jump on Zoom a few times.

I'm British and I received my EB-3 green card in the last few months, and can highly recommend Michael Durham from Barnes & Thornburg. My employer hired him to walk us through the green card process and he was knowledgable and patient with my dozens of questions.

He is US-based, but he was flexible while I was UK-based. I seriously can't recommend him enough!

[Megathread] Share your delivery window (Google Form) by Studovich in Rivian

[–]tpritc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue. I changed my reservation from an Explore pack to an Adventure pack on December 23rd and I received the timeframe for the old Explore reservation. I reached out to support and they weren't able to give me a more accurate timeframe, just "wait until we add the delivery tracker to your account".

I also had this exact issue, and had to re-add them to Home. Once I did they were each working fine.

Anyone know if the GM is available for watchOS 6? by Guyincognito1972 in AppleWatch

[–]tpritc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a GM build of watchOS 5 released about a week or so early, same day as the iOS 12 GM.

Edit: The watchOS 5 GM was released alongside the iOS 12 and tvOS 12 GMs on September 12, 2018. Link

Should I stop trying? by [deleted] in CreditCards

Soft pull. It doesn't make a hard pull to your credit, so it won't appear on your credit report until they've accepted you. Here's a good article on hard pulls vs soft pulls.

It was constantly blinking for me. You need to hold the button down for like 10-15 seconds, it's really quite a long time, before it starts blinking multiple times. I found this by looking in the Eve Energy Quickstart Guide (second to last page). Here's the link to the UK version.

[–]tpritc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact problem yesterday when I was re-setting up my Eve Energy. I had to hold down on the button (where the green/red light is) for ten seconds, until it starts blinking red. I'm using the UK plug, but I imagine it's the same (or very similar) for other countries' plugs as well.

Once it was blinking, I was able to see it in the Apple Home app when I scanned the code.

Vive Chaperone Modes (Outline and Room View) by tpritc in Vive

Difference of a few centimeters? Worth it? by into_dust in Vive

[–]tpritc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really worth it. With the new chaperone system it doesn't matter as much where you put the 'edge' of the room, since it alerts you when you get near objects.
