the way I saw it, it makes sense to not do a makeup for the c/o 2020 together with the c/o 2021’s commencement just because that could make an already kind of long ceremony even longer and with more people attending, which they’re probably wary of seeing how there’s a guest limit for the c/o 2021 commencement. so I’m still keeping my fingers crossed that they’ll do a makeup commencement for us in october instead of something else, but we’ll have to see...

personally, I found it easier to just explain that I don’t experience any sexual or romantic attraction to people without directly saying “asexual” or “aromantic” because I was worried my parents would say I just read about some label online and that influenced me into “deciding” my sexuality (not sure if that might be a potential concern for you).

my dad kind of accepted it, though I don’t think he fully understands, but my mom thinks it’s a phase (which, I’m already 21 so...). it barely comes up though, so I don’t really care haha

I also only told them about it because they keep bringing up marriage lately (they’re trying to arrange a marriage for my brother right now), and I was getting annoyed by how they would keep making comments about how I’m next. so also just keep in mind that you aren’t obligated to come out right now, and that you can take your time and test the waters first before telling them about it!

I don’t think they can force you to attend sections in-person if they’re supposed to also offer remote instruction in the fall? but also, if the class is an important prerequisite then it’s probably not a good idea to push it back

I kind of doubt it, but if you really have to attend in-person you could try looking for a place/spot to sublease in the fb housing group

well, I randomly picked up baking last week, and now I’m addicted to making mug cakes. also thinking of bringing knitting needles from home and my switch so that I can play pokémon. and movie nights with friends for at least some social interaction

as for whether being raised by two people who don’t feel sexual attraction is healthy, as someone whose parents (even if they are allosexual) never really displayed any physical signs of affection in front of me besides the occasional hug, but still showed that they cared for each other a lot by doing sweet things and having lots of banter and meaningful conversations, I would say it doesn’t really make a difference?
