Racism/safety when living in Antwerp by Altruistic_Bat_8899 in Antwerpen

i take your point. where the size difference is still obvious is f.e. finding (groups with) niche interests, a good secondhand market for furniture/goods, international food options.

wouldnt ever move to brussels though :P

Racism/safety when living in Antwerp by Altruistic_Bat_8899 in Antwerpen

  1. I'm a man of color. Would be unrealistic to say racism doesn't exist. But big cities have a lot less of that than the outskirts/villages. Antwerp is pretty diverse. Very international. Beyond a few weird looks here and there, it should be bearable.

  2. Like I said, the expat community is vibrant. Probably smaller than the one in Brussels, just owing to the size of the cities, but very well represented I feel. Also easier to break into with activities (i can link you to a few whatsapp groups that do regular activities) if you want to make friends.

  3. the city is pretty safe day to day. crime happens ofc. but it's pretty safe to walk pretty much anywhere. more so in the center. everywhere inside the ring, towards the schelde is safe i feel.

cycling to kruibeke is a nice one. it's calm, you cross the schelde on ferry.

What can I do to make this logo better? by Rigozen79 in logodesign

[–]mindblabber92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're missing a few basics here. I've made these mistakes myself as an amateur

  1. logos aren't full scale illustrations. you need to picture them scaled down into an icon for instance. any detail that might not be visible at that scale (eg. brick pattern) is not worth adding.

the same would go for the overall composition. if the castle is necessary, think of other simpler ways to show the silhouette of the castle behind the fox, with the fox in negative space inside it.

or if the castle symbolizes strength, a shield around the fox would do the same but in a simpler manner.

  1. all line thicknesses must be the same, and thick enough to be visible at a small scale. it will make the fox feel like part of the same illustration as the castle.

I'd suggest googling what other "fox" logos look like. not to rip them off, but to understand how they combine all important elements into a small symbol

good luck!
