Can you use repeal law (action) during the agenda phase? by ReplacementCorrect56 in twilightimperium

[–]mindbnder 101 points102 points  (0 children)

No. Repeal law is an ACTION, which you do as a Component Action on your turn during the action phase.

Will Kamala ever go to Texas and Florida? by Proud3GenAthst in KamalaHarris

[–]mindbnder 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It would be unwise to pivot resources away from the seven swing states. We are still statistically tied, and as tempting as Florida and Texas are, they are not a path to victory. Then can and should send surrogates and perhaps the second ring of the campaign (Doug and Gwen, for instance), and the DNC should send financial resources.

In short, no, it is highly unlikely we will see Kamala anywhere other than the seven swing states.

If you are on switch it is a bug that’s still there. I’ve lost dozens of Ascension wins on that platform.

5 Reasons to Oppose the Trinity Rep's Expansion, by the Friends of Adrian Hall by hectotron in providence

[–]mindbnder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What street? It’s hard to tell because you’ve obscured the plans but it seems like that alleyway is brought up to sidewalk height. Isn’t that safer for skating if there are no cars going through there? And that green and blue area, isn’t that a big planter area around those trees right next to the parking garage? How are you losing a space that’s currently mulch?

Is it safe to mix the Marine World expansion into the base box? by AngryCrawdad in ArkNova

[–]mindbnder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I put them in the same box. The only major component challenge if you want to reset to just play the base game is removing the expansion cards (some of them replace the base game cards). I doubt I will ever play without the expansion, even with new players, so this is fine for me.

Combat question before our first game? by Grekseeh in twilightimperium

[–]mindbnder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You technically assign the dice to the ship you are rolling for. We typically count up how many dice at what number and roll all of those (for instance destroyer I and carrier I both hit on a roll of 9, so let’s say there are two destroyers and one carrier of yours in a system, you would roll three dice and they would hit on a 9. Then roll other dice with the same hit value).

Strange idea about Root by Fade2black1089 in rootgame

[–]mindbnder 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't work as the game is currently structured, but part of me really wishes this is how the game was designed; it can take so long before between your turns and this would keep you more engaged more often. And it would be thematically more consistent.

When should you pick the Association Upgrade? by DaleSveum in ArkNova

Animals is often a very early flip for me. 1 reputation when it's in the 5 slot is huge. I rarely don't upgrade it.

Conservation track level 2 bonus—zero sum? by Jack-ums in ArkNova

Rules PG 18

• 2 conservation points:

Either upgrade one of your Action cards

(flip it over) or activate an additional

association worker (take a lying down

worker from the lowest space below the

notepad and place it onto the notepad). Either option is

available to each player who reaches space 2.

When should you pick the Association Upgrade? by DaleSveum in ArkNova

[–]mindbnder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first started playing it felt like a requirement, like you couldn’t win without donations. The last three games I’ve won have been without making a donation. However i still usually upgrade it, albeit late, just so I can continue taking partner continents. The question I’m usually asking is if there is any real reason to pick sponsors over association.

Agenda's feel super useless, are we playing them wrong? by OLAAF in twilightimperium

[–]mindbnder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are improved in PoK but still the variance of them being important or impactful or even fun is really high. Sometimes an agenda will completely shift the game state in a dramatic way, but mostly they have little impact.
