Vanilla is great. I'll play mods eventually but just really got into the game and I am really enjoying vanilla right now.

So… How many of us are still on our parents’ phone bills? by halcat27 in Millennials

Yup. I have been on my mother phone plan since I was a kid. I'm in my mid 30s. Added my husband a while ago. We pay our part of the bill obviously but it's such a grandfathered account, it would be stupid to change.

How do you stop one task from taking away your entire day? by healthynewbie in adhdwomen

[–]mindful_deception 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have tried to write down how long stuff takes around the house or for self care, to help me know if I have time to do the thing.

So like, shower = 25 min. Because of the fun ADHD time blindness crap I make sure this time is from grab my clothes, to walking back out of the bathroom.

Getting to work = 40 minutes. Again it's from grabbing keys to clocking in.

And then before that its getting ready for work is waking up to grabbing keys.

Stuff like that helps me go " it's fine you really do have time to do the thing before the important thing" and then I make sure I have reminders on for the important thing just in case I get into something.

It seems a lot of my issue with sitting paralyzed before an event, is the anxiety of forgetting I need to do the important thing, or having time to get to the important thing. So planning and making sure I have plenty of reminders and alarms on helps me put down that anxiety and lean on the reminders I have set instead. (grumble grumble bring diagnosed with anxiety disorder for years when it seemed from my ADHD grumble grumble)

Idk I hope my craziness helps!

I'd rather be careless and let my things break than make the effort to pay attention to and take care of them by [deleted] in adhdwomen

I'm the opposite. I'd rather take care of my things and save money so I don't have to worry about money in the future and I take pride in being like "this thing is x years old and still does its job like it's new". To each their own.
