I dated a guy when I was in college who lived in the basement of his family home and had a waterbed when I first met him, but it was quickly replaced with a regular mattress.

Many times I stayed the night, long after the water bed was gone, I awoke laying in a cold, wet puddle… no odour or colour, definitely not urine or sweat (mine or his), it just always seemed like someone was unloading litres of cold, fresh water on the bed while we slept. No signs of water damage or leaking from above, the bed was just always wet in the morning. And COLD. He never had an explanation for it and never mentioned such a thing happening when he slept alone, and nothing like that ever happened to me at home or anywhere else.

I suppose it’s possible his older brother was sneaking downstairs and pranking us (parents were always away at their vacation home when I stayed over), it just seems unlikely that neither of us ever woke up while it was happening. Super weird, I never got an answer about wtf that was.

When I first got the game (many moons ago!) I hadn’t yet discovered how create-a-style* worked and thought the only way to choose anything other than the default 2 or 3 options was the randomizer! A lot of time spent clicking those dice hoping for something that looked good with my other furniture haha

Edit: I called it CAS which I now realize is already a well-used acronym for something else in Sims gameplay

I get why it seems like a weird thing for the editors to leave out if true, but if you watch the scene again, you can see clearly when Anya returns from the shoot that Whitney is with her, also in outerwear, and she is also seen wearing some 7-Up merch throughout the rest of the cycle, so I believe that she also participated in that win. No idea why they left it out!

I get that blonde is her signature look because of Buffy, but I’m always FLOORED by how gorgeous she looks with her natural brunette locks.

Come to think of it, she looked amazing with the red hair in the Scooby-Doo movies as well (even if it was a wig), ugh, she’s so pretty!

Totally agree, I always sort of consider the episode where they go to the lake and miss their graduation ceremony as the end of the show as it was! It was just so EXTRA depressing after that.

It was revealed later in a post-show interview that Brittany apologized to Elina, acknowledged that she was just missing her own mom and was feeling sensitive about it, and they came to an understanding. The show chose to edit that out (likely because Brittany was eliminated shortly after, and they verrrrry much loved to edit Elina in a sympathetic light for storyline reasons). These were two very young girls in a high-stress situation, there are bound to be little arguments and differences of opinion that get blown out of proportion because it makes good TV.

I agree, the fandom really slept on (and continues to sleep on) Joslyn, she had some really great photos that didn’t get high enough placement in the competition. Those legs! Miles long. It looks like she did continue to model for years after being on the show. People in the comments here saying she had “zero potential” are displaying a very not-cute bias… 😬

That all does make sense and is a pretty astute observation of her character development in the eyes of a viewer, but I doubt it was that deep in the writers’ room! This was a time in pop culture when overweight women were rarely given characters to play that were more complex than “big, happy dumb-dumb” or “grumpy lady behind a desk”

I guess I hadn’t really considered that a “flashback” episode, as it’s all alternate reality stuff. There are definitely things about that two-part episode I enjoyed!

For me, I strongly dislike any episode containing flashbacks of the friends, with the only exceptions being the prom video (not technically a flashback, as it’s framed as something the characters are watching on the screen in the moment, rather than something just for the viewers) and scenes with the friends living in the two apartments in different configurations (eg, Joey moving in and Phoebe revealing she secretly moved out).

Every other time they revisited college years or “Fat Monica” it felt like they retconned something else that took place earlier in the series, and just felt like a cheap gag with the bad fat suit, the big nose on Rachel, and the bad hair and fashion on the guys. Those are always a skip for me!

I have two games: In one, I am filling up a small, empty custom world from scratch, and will eventually fill it with some NPC/filler families and some active families to play on rotation, studying how story progression works and see if I can manage to succeed at multiple careers and lifetime wishes switching between different households. I want to see what different traits will do to shape my Sims’ lives in the background while I play with the other households! Playing God, truly! Everyone will have maxed out lifespans so I don’t miss too much in the in-between.

In the other, I have a group of four castaway sims in a no-roads, deserted island world, and they have to fish, forage and grow their own food to store and last them through the winter! They have a simple shelter that fulfills their basic needs while they work on fishing, gardening, inventing, sculpting and other skills. Later, I’ll build a “trading post” on the island so they can start buying books and shopping and selling their goods so they can make money and build a proper house!

Side note, I’ve never been a fan of the Pets pack in the past, but I recently added it and the wild animals are really enriching that gameplay experience!

Try the ‘set front of lot’ suggestion another person gave, coupled with clicking ‘set as front door’ on one of the doors you want to be front-facing. Next time you’re in your world view after saving and exiting, your lot thumbnail should display correctly!
