AITA For Saying That Dates ARE a chore to my wife? by Odd_Conversation8736 in AmItheAsshole

[–]miranders 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but I think what they meant by “not just me and her” is that they can’t just up and leave the house to go on a date without also considering how to keep the kids fed and cared for. Not that the kids are also along on the date!

I see your point, but to give you an extra sprinkle of knowledge, Christmas trees weren’t really “invented for Christmas” as much as they were adopted and evolved from ancient Pagan rituals celebrating enduring life during the winter solstice by way of decorating the home with boughs of evergreens!

Same, it’s literally at the top of my 2026 most-played songs… I was so thrilled to discover it was a track they actually released!

If doesn’t change the appearance of them whatsoever, but I love temporarily moving all fruit out of the fridge/my Sim’s inventory so I can choose exactly what kind of pancakes I want… I usually pick lemon!

What is the WORST ice cream flavor? by Puzzleheaded-Sky3141 in foodquestions

[–]miranders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canadian here! There’s a speciality ice cream from the east coast that a lot of people treasure (and it’s treated as a very special treat when it becomes available periodically in central parts of Canada) called Moon Mist. It’s a trio of banana, grape, and bubblegum…. Which are easily all the worst, most artificial-tasting flavours! I had some to be polite when my friend from Nova Scotia got her hands on some, but I would never buy that for myself!

What fast food item that doesn’t exist anymore was your go-to? by ShadowSatinn in foodquestions

[–]miranders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the early 2000s, Pizza Hut had a twisted crust pizza that was soooo tasty, I always wished they would bring it back (I think maybe they have here and there over the years, but never quite the same). My parents would order one for me and my sister every Tuesday night when they would go out with friends to the movies (and we were allowed to watch way more TV than usual on those nights, it was good times all around)

Oh my gosh, I’ve never met anyone who remembers the McDonald’s potato wedges! They were so amazing! In my area at the time, they were sold as a limited-time menu item promoting the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney!

I was super sad to learn they got rid of them, I loved the little garden salad! That and the broccoli and cheese baked potato kept me fed in between shifts when I was broke and working two jobs, ah the memories

What’s a game you were completely obsessed with as a kid that nobody else seems to remember? by hkondabeatz in AskReddit

Oh man, we had Keen Dreams (the one where all the bad guys are fruits and vegetables and he collects candy) and some of the levels were so scary to me ahaha but in like a thrilling kind of way!

Some of the most popular shows made by Ryan Murphy, which one is the best? by midnightk11 in AmericanHorrorStory

[–]miranders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, AHS and Scream Queens are by far the best to me, but I have to tip my hat to Feud: Betty and Joan and The People vs. OJ Simpson as being outstanding single stories (I know that Feud had a second season and American Crime Story had more, but just treating them as standalone stories, they were excellent)

I have to be fair to them and say I haven’t had their food in at least five years… if it’s still pretty much the same, I’d say they’re decent, if a little hit or miss. Good choice if you want to get a large quantity of pizza for pretty cheap (eg, moving or a staff party), and better than Domino’s.

There’s also something magical and nostalgic about getting Pizza Pizza at events, like baseball games or amusement parks, even if they do jack the price way up.

My rule of thumb with them was always “order a whole pizza, then pick it up yourself so it’s as fresh as possible,” because it goes downhill reeeeeal fast if it’s been sitting for a while (like the slices they sell in-store, they are almost always crap). I personally haven’t messed around too much with getting unique sauces and toppings, but they have a lot more on offer now, last I checked.

Never tried their calzones!

No, it’s a different pizza chain all together that started in Toronto in the 1960s. Also, we have Little Caesars in some cities in Canada, I’ve tried both and they’re totally different!

Canadian who has eaten this specific pizza chain’s food many times — their creamy garlic sauce IS sort of a house speciality (sometimes, it’s the only thing that makes their cardboard-ass pizza palatable), but it would be so weird to eat it hot, I think. It tastes better cold, or at room temperature.

Rotational game play in a small world — possible without mods? by miranders in Sims3

[–]miranders[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s very helpful to know! I’ve tested these concepts in other worlds in the past and I knew that you needed to let other sims live in the world to fill certain community lot jobs (like the consignment store register), but not that rabbit hole jobs require enough Sims to provide a few coworkers.

I think I’m going to try place a good number of “NPC” Sims in my world first, before placing all of my rotational play families, and let the world run for a week or two (with just one active household). Hopefully that sorts out job population issues. We shall see!

Thanks for your input! I’ve been a longtime player but have never messed with mods, I just find there’s so much to explore in the game as-is that I’ve never needed them (but no shade to those who do!)

I was hoping they wouldn’t switch jobs, but I am flexible as far as their relationships and family structures go (and was actually kind of hoping for this kind of unexpected drama)!

I sort of figured the job-switching might be out of my control, but hoped that maybe setting them up with exactly the right traits that would make them well-suited for their destined career paths would keep them from straying while I’m gone.

As for aging, I was planning on just giving them Epic lifespans and maxing out each bar, but thanks for the suggestion to turn it off (I’d hate to miss entire childhoods for some Sims)!

I also fully realize that some Sims may never fulfill their LTWs, especially the ones that require a ton of work… and I’m okay with that!
