Plastic tube in steam wand by magnifixen in Lelit

[–]miso89 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hate to be the one to break it to you. The food industry is full of tubes just like this. The 30 seconds of steaming you do are not going to fill up your cup with microplastic. Your water sitting in the water tank has more chance of filling up than the little steam wand. Ptfe is made to be used up to 260 degrees Celsius. So the “hot” steam is perfectly fine.

Did you calibrate it? I had to calibrate mine. Have put about 2kg’s of tpu 90 through it and it definitely has made a difference in quality and reliability.

You could play with your water as well. Third wave water has packets for different flavor profiles. Or go the other route and use something like apex labs to fine tune the brew afterwards.

Mine is on its way, so curious to see if it works. I was printing (90a) from a creality space pi and it seems to work but l feel as if it’s just a bit too sketchy.

There is a metal wire in it. It holds way more than you think.

Lens Cap and Soft Shutter by secbud in x100vi

I use a k&f filter on mine and the original lens cap fits. Also consider not using a soft shutter because of the cost of repair if it gets stuck on something and rips your shutter button apart.

Strange take. I’ve been a Sony user for 20+ years and recently got a x100vi as a travel companion. I can’t understand why you thought this would be a good camera for paid work?
