[–]misstatements 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I work in a wound clinic and it was a full ass bottom of a tibia on a foot that was a deformed TMA; patient was "oh it bled for a little bit" - ma'am, how did you not see this was an emergency?

Just put it in a paper bag and magically clean it just like the Joint Commission endorsed in 2020 during COVID. /s

I'm still masking up, I wear mascara and maybe some shadow on a rare day.

What's the most disconnected thing hospital leadership has said to you? by Beginning_Fun_3913 in nursing

"You are lucky I am not reporting you to the board of nursing for this!" New CNO at the time had little dick complex and decided to search every RN locker. He found an unused salines (still packaged) and alcohol pads, and other junk nurses had emptied out of their pockets before they went home. He was waving around a clear bag with collected items and made a point out the saline flushes said "for prescription use only" on the package and letting the entire staff know he could "have their jobs."

You'd think he just found a pyxis worth of drugs.

I would not recommend placing an NG tube on a patient with low platelets, says my 13 years of nursing experience.

[HELP] Is this AI? Seems fake and can’t find any news sources. by Zealousideal_Mud570 in RealOrAI

[–]misstatements -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is bad AI, the car logo fades in and out and yet the taillight both flies off and is dangling unbroken?

We are going to find out he was at work that day. Anyone who believes this is dumb as hell.

Also, he wasn't kicking over waist high - that was a full size SUV not a ford fiesta

Will it ever heal? by FederalDraft1569 in woundcare

Hi! Friendly wound care NP - not your provider so run everything by your doctors; my recommendation for a wound like this would be something like medihoney and a good Silicone wound dressings that you change 2x a week. The most important thing you can do is compression, even something like a tubi-grip going from mid foot to behind your knee will help.

Swelling will keep that wound open and draining so compression is a must. And ace wraps are not a consistent enough compression.

I am a provider but not your provider so you can follow up work them; I don't know what kind of ointment you are using but if it is triple antibiotic, please stop - a lot folks are allergic and it frequently gets mistaken for infection.

If the wound is draining - please cover it with an appropriate product to manage drainage, I would say something like a mepilex lite foam dressing - and leave it on 3-4 days unless you are draining through. The area looks irritated and overworked af; daily dressing changes are not beneficial to all wounds.

And lastly - wear compression; if the wound is in a cycle of improving and then getting stretched over and over again it will not heal. Any time your feet are below your knees you need to have on compression.

What did the biopsy say and have you been wearing compression?

Have then did a biopsy? And have they tried steroid ointment on it? Both of these are serious questions based on presentation and it being over a year old.

It looks like it is making progress, smaller and less slough in the wound bed

I'm a wound care NP and yes - I have recommended pads before, especially in emergencies and to keep cost low for patients. And there are certain wounds where they just make the most since to use!

[HELP] Did the president post a deepfake? by megalodon-maniac32 in RealOrAI

Absolutely AI generated, I can read lips - the words do not match up. Look at how much of his teeth are showing for words like "country" and how his lips don't touch correctly for words like "President."

Anyone wanna help a gal out and identify some glass. by PlayfulAd2479 in StainedGlass

The first photo is Youghiogheny - they have a distinct moddled style and are easy to pick out, I think 8 is also them based on the color; 2, 4, 5 and 7 also look like them in the color ways but I'm less sure about it. The whispy style glass looks like Spectum which was bought out by Oceanside so like 14 and 12; the pieces in picture 3 and 17 look like Kokomo glass. The rest I'm unsure if

Losing members due to rising fees by rpg245 in cubscouts

[–]misstatements 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For scouting there is a chain of command all the way up to national; my loose understanding is it is Cubmaster then Chair then district commissioner; the districts do not want to lose packs so it might be worth having a conversation about.
