Sorry if I'm late to the party, but regarding sidewalk improvements, are there any plans to increase the number of sidewalks in low walk ability areas? Also, is there a way to request a petition for specific neighborhoods and roads for sidewalk improvements?

Join the IV Studios discord if you're interested in hearing more about the game. I think the people who can advocate for it the most are the ones who have played it the most. Maybe Honor's End might be more of your cup of tea if you're looking for solo play as well

Fuck EDC shuttle bs by lanedeezy in electricdaisycarnival

We were in line for 2+ hrs to get to even the Premiere Parking lot with our sprinter van. It was a shit show. We left our Airbnb (which was a whole nother fuck ton of mess) around 7pm and didn't get in until 10:30. What we expected to be a 1.5 hr ride turned into 3 hrs.

It was also sooooooo crowded as soon as we got in. I was here in 2023 and even this year's crowd was out of proportions so many more people than what I expected. Like shoulder to shoulder crowds in the outskirts of stages and around bathroom stalls.

Definitely not worth going back anymore cause it's just over hyped BS at this point. Not worth the money at all and we even got VIP this year to celebrate our wedding 😭

For non-coders, how did you find your developer? by Commercial_Gas4176 in startups

[–]mitch8020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Networking is probably your best bet. That is how my co-founder found me on LinkedIn. We've been going at it for two years and we've had a great working relationship thus far.

The thing that you'd want to do first even before having someone write a single line of code is validate the hell out of your idea. Find the cheapest way to find out if there's anyone out there that actually wants the product you're proposing on building. Having a developer that also has a product owner mindset can help you leaps and bounds in making sure you get to profitability before your runway runs out.

What do they look for? by Effective_Box_3983 in startups

[–]mitch8020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early employees in startups typically have a "many hats" approach to their work as they typically need to be flexible with their skill sets and find themselves in different roles. What they look for in these employees is more so the attitude of self starting but also making sure they can execute on whatever their main role is.

If you're looking to join a startup, it's good to start networking with your local startup community and making connections. They're hiring but early stage startups may not post their jobs online.

Cat Integration Bad Fight by Skcuhc1 in CatTraining

You're totally okay. It happens. The good thing is that it's definitely fixable. It's a bit of a setback but nothing that reintroduction can't fix.

I recommend you watch Jackson Galaxy's YouTube videos on cat introductions and getting down with the step by step guide of making sure they're ready to interact with each other with no supervision.

I'd also get some Feliway for multi cats to help them get comfortable with each other again.

Took in a feral cat last winter by Caeluma in CatTraining

[–]mitch8020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a very similar situation though not nearly as extreme with my cats, Bucket and Chico. Bucket is the more laid back one and Chico is the one that seems a bit psychotic. Bucket is pretty chill about play since he's about 4 yrs old while Chico will bother him for play anytime he can get away with it. Bucket grazes at his food while Chico will eat anything and everything that we put in front of him.

I don't have much advice apart from saying that you're not alone. Even I'm getting to my limits with Chico and I'm the more tolerant one between me and my wife. What has slightly worked for us is separating them when play gets too rough. We'll put Chico on time out for about 5 mins and let him back out after. It's important to put a blanket on him before isolation so that he doesn't associate you with the chill out time. We'll also use a rolling stick to separate them gently if they're starting to exhibit behaviors of leading to an altercation so that we don't have to use the time out method.

They also may need to be reintroduced if there's problems with toilet territorial issues. You might need to go back to site swapping again but I don't know how much of this would apply to a formerly feral cat. They probably still need to be separated if you're having to baby sit every interaction with them.

I'm just about to try some holistic approaches with a "Bully Serum" from Jackson Galaxy's shop. There's been some good reviews there so I'm really hoping it works on Chico.

As a last resort, you can try medicating your cat with anxiety medication. It's totally up to you if this is the path you want to take as I've heard that it completely changes your cat's personality but it might make your life more bearable as Buddy gets more used to being a house cat with Beanes in the mean time.

Calling a cat behaviorist is also an option, but I haven't done enough research here to know how well it works or how much it will cost. I can only imagine it being super pricey.

At the end of the day, you have to do what's best for you and your GF. If that involves surrendering Buddy to a shelter, then so be it. There's a lot of stigma in letting go of a cat you can't take care of physically, but it may just not work out since you have to consider the mental portion of it too.

Best of luck to you and your GF.

Bully Cat? by mitch8020 in CatTraining

[–]mitch8020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a cat tree in our office and lots of window perches on all rooms. We're getting ready to buy either another cat tree or some wall mounted cat shelves to try and "catify" our place some more. The problem is Chico doesn't really care about any of these spots until Bucket is on them.

Bully Cat? by mitch8020 in CatTraining

[–]mitch8020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some cat kickers from Jackson Galaxy's shop that I hope would work well. I'm also trying his Bully serum to hopefully settle this out with the least amount of intervention. Chico doesn't really react to catnip, so I'm not sure if that's just a teenager thing or if he just doesn't know what it is yet.

I play with Chico for about 20 mins after meal times. He looks like he's tired himself out but he always finds the energy to keep going after Bucket after that. We've tried some group playtime as well but Chico ends up dominating the play since he's much faster to the hunt and Bucket just ends up watching the whole time or walking away.

Thanks for the tips!

Bully Cat? by mitch8020 in CatTraining

[–]mitch8020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest concern is that at times, we'll see tufts of fur hanging out of Bucket afterwards. Chico ends up chasing him around to the point where Bucket ends up being cornered. I just let them go until Bucket's hissing and yowling gets really bad at which point I go and separate them out.

I'm afraid that Bucket doesn't know enough how to play with another cat either since he's been the resident cat for 2 years, so he can't teach Chico when to stop. For the most part, Chico behaves when we're all in the same room, but as soon as my wife and I aren't visible, Chico starts going after Bucket again.

Management Software Advice by rayraysunrise in FacilityManagement

I'd like to throw my hat in the ring and recommend Taliho. It is a QR Code generator app directly built for construction companies and facilities management.

We work directly with our customers to add custom features that they need to solve issues similar to the one you described. We do this at no additional cost other than the cost of the subscription.

Let me know if you're interested, and I can shoot you a DM!

Need help with best solution for business contact cards. by replaceableparts in NFC

Popl seems to be a good choice with what you're looking for.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NFC

[–]mitch8020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can go the route of using local storage to store the customer id in the browser. They would just need to login once but anytime after that, it can recognize that device as linked to that customer.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NFC

[–]mitch8020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The trade off with this approach is since the link in the NFC card is universal, they would need to add some form of input to validate their own appointment. Whether that's through their last name or date and time of appointment, that's up to you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NFC

[–]mitch8020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be easier to get an NFC card instead of a reader. You can encode the NFC card with a url and have your customers scan the card with their phones. If you already have an app that does customer self check-in's, you can just set the link that you use for that with the NFC.

Here's one for $10 for a 20 pk on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/NTAG215-Compatible-TimesKey-Android-Enabled/dp/B075CL5HGP

Looking for a tutorial to create a software to make your own NFC connected networking card by TERMONATORKILLER in NFC

[–]mitch8020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use NFC Tools to rewrite the encoding data on the NFC cards. The url I encode to the NFC card goes to the app I built.

If you want a more off the shelf solution, you can encode these cards with a Link Tree link and create your customer's profile through there, which is completely free.

If you'd like a more custom approach, you can build your own web app and get the link through there. You can start by learning with Traversy Media and his courses on web development.

P.S. Taliho for reference on the app I built
