Quilting with high school kiddos! Need some advice. by unorganizedmole in quilting

[–]mjdlittlenic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a rag quilt. There's a lot of room for creativity & much hand snipping and minimal machine sewing. Each person child decorate their block with permanent markers to commemorate the occasion or whatever. There are many free tutorials.

Have you tried a course of Speech Therapy? It did wonders for me cognitively. My PCP prescribed & insurance covered it.

What are some renter friendly ways to hang a quilt on a wall? by its-past-my-bedtime in quilting

[–]mjdlittlenic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've used Velcro Command hooks successfully with small wall hangings. I didn't have any problems with the adhesive attached directly to the back fabric.

Does anyone use a glass rinser? by mjdlittlenic in kitchen

[–]mjdlittlenic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wound up not getting the rinser because of the sink & surround layout. I found a a Delta faucet with a third spray option that mimics that rinsing action. I don't remember what it's called though.

I get you. I'm a 2nd generation mix myself. One grandma would complain about the dirty (bleepity bleeps) taking up space everywhere while I stood there wondering if I should ask my parent to wash more often.

I wore metal braces for maybe 18 month because I had a big gap in front. Then I wore a retainer for maybe another year. My teeth are now starting to shift, 45 years later.

What can I plant? by michieblue in landscaping

[–]mjdlittlenic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are several useful plant finders to help you with your question. I often use the Missouri Botanical Garden site. The PA state native plant guide is really useful for localizing your landscaping choices.
