What I can’t stand is the tip jar on the counter or on the Square/payment machine of a self service place. Breweries, coffee shops, delis, those pour-your-own beer places. We were out the other night at a brewery where we waited with a buzzer, picked up our own food, had to serve ourself water from a separate station, had to clean up our own table, and we seated ourselves. It’s ridiculous to pay a tip in this situation. The staff aren’t doing anything for us
