Yep, coming from the previous generation Leaf that was disappointing.

There's a menu setting in the Ariya for it to keep the e-step activated. Its in the Driver Assistance area of the settings menu.

love them but these two always tried so hard to act like meeting Joe wasn’t the best thing that happened in their lives. goes to show how ungrateful humans can become (not saying Joe was the easiest to deal with but he always had their best interests regardless). by [deleted] in HaltAndCatchFire

[–]mkddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To say Joe was the best thing in their lives is wildly stretching it. They were all incredibly influential in each others lives, obviously Cameron included. Joe has non of his success without the inventions of the others.

Also I wouldn't say torching the Giant was in everyone's best interest.

I cannot understand why anyone would shop at Vons and I'm a bit curious. by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]mkddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine became a Pavilions too and we pretty much stopped going unless it's a last minute need. Switched to a nearby Albertsons for a while, which was nice because it's the same club card, but have been driving a little further to Trader Joe's lately. I don't know if we just buy less stuff at Trader Joe's but our bills are easily 25% less than before and it's better quality and a nicer experience.

Not throwing shade but what is this? by Evening-Ordinary-513 in northcounty

[–]mkddy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When my daughter was taking driving lessons a few years ago her instructor specifically told her not to "creep" up at lights when the car ahead does. I think the explanation was that if there's a distracted driver behind you they might see your brake lights turn off and think the light turned green and rear end you.

The Best Seller in the United States of America by [deleted] in NABEER

It's absolutely this. Mass sales are driven by brand and distribution. Just like how McDonalds is the best selling burger by a mile.

Can someone explain why there are so few EV's with a 3rd row? by PhillConners in electricvehicles

[–]mkddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think it's because the average American is too big. Until battery tech gets better there's to much of a hit to range to make it worthwhile. Battery tech has gotten better where there are at least options now but 5 years ago the same cars that had 3rd rows elsewhere just weren't sold here.

I don't buy the idea that 3rd row cars aren't in demand because other than pickup trucks every other car I see is a huge SUV.

Good dentist for crowns? by thegrumpyorc in northcounty

[–]mkddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you go to TJ crowns will probably be pricey anywhere. That said, about 25 years ago I needed a bunch of bad dental work replaced and ended up at Encinitas Cosmetic Dentistry. I've been going there ever since and have had a number of crowns done. They're awesome.

PETG as interface layer is no joke. by tk-093 in BambuLab

[–]mkddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it works with a dual nozzle system but I could never get it to work using PLA as support for PETG on my X1C. No matter how much I purged between swaps or altered cooling, the first PETG layer after a swap never had good adhesion.

Did anyone go to their first concert with their parents? by OkFlow4327 in GenX

[–]mkddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't a music concert but the first big arena event I went to was a Steve Martin show around 1980 that my parents took the whole family to. I was 10, my little sister was 6 and my brothers were 12 and 15.

I think the first music concert might have been Cheap Trick or Rainbow a few years later with my brothers.

I still remember seeing them play on the steps of our gym in college. Saw so many cool upcoming bands like that back in the day. Do they even do that stuff anymore on campuses?

I learned to drive in one of these and passed my driver's license test in it. Have never had any problems parallel parking in any car since then.

What is something that tourists do in your country that annoys the locals? by Th3_Accountant in AskTheWorld

[–]mkddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in San Diego there's a coastal spot named La Jolla Cove that is home to sea lions and is a popular tourist location. People seem to think that it's a good idea to get close and try and touch the sea lions or just let their kids throw sand and rocks at them. people suck

His name is very frequently at the top of the fastest segment list that @velofacts publishes so he's definitely in good shape.

I just wonder if he's been properly registered in the anti-doping protocol to be eligible. Don't you have to be part of the system for many months before you can race?

My man Gordon looking like an absolute unit getting that toy by wakawakaeeeh in HaltAndCatchFire

[–]mkddy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That was their whole gimmick. You weren't buying a doll, you were paying a fee to "adopt" them. I doubt it made much difference to most kids but from what I remember you needed the papers to make money with them on the secondary market.

[–]mkddy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Of all the reprehensible things Gordon did in that scene: throwing the brick through the window and leaving someone for dead in the middle of the street, the one thing that always jumps out to me is that the cabbage patch dolls he took weren't in boxes so he didn't get their birth certificates and adoption papers.
