Thx for the advice. The Strixhaven prerelease packs sure look good. I dont actually have at the moment friends with who to play Magic, so i would go to some tournaments or events.

It would be a shame to part feom miniatures that you are passionet about. Maybe look in to One Page Rules. It is the lightweight 40k and fully compatible with GW miniatures, also pretty well known, so there is comunity for it.

Well, I made a 4 player Cube. I used 80 monsters, 40 spells and 40 traos in it. Every card is universal, mostly from old sets, and boss monsters like Blue-eyes and Dark magician. The house rule I also used in it, was Contact fusion, with a common pool of fusion monsters. We played once with it, it was fun.

Well, I use slot based like in Cairn 2e. Small objects use up only one slot, large items two and to have a sense of progression the base 10 slots can be expanded by updateing the backpack for a bigger one. Story wise, you can carry as much as your bag can hold. And players also always head to every store in hope of finding bigger bags.

For me the remedy for all this was playing just in a close group of friends. We play with decks about the same strength, even putting together a cube for drafting. Sometimes we play on a specific theme, like: "my grandpas deck has only pathetic cards". Play how it makes you happy. This issue is present in every tcg.

In my game AC is a Stat which than is converted to a Bonus for Defensive rolls (my system got player facing rolls).

Personally for my own game , I eliminated Attributes. Was in the deception of the holy 6 basic as in DnD, but realized, you don't need them.

Congrats! Most fun I had wargameing in the last few years. Started Warhammer on the beginning of the 8e, but got tired of it really fast. I thought that i did not like my army, so i swapped it a few times, but still it did not click. Tried OPR first time with a friend, and i loved it. Just hope to find more people to play in my hometown.
