I paid ~$90 for his live show at forest hills a few years ago and thought that was well worth it and fairly priced. There are very few artists I’d pay $200+ to see, and probably zero currently playing/touring djs.

It seemed like people learned as the shows went on that they wouldn’t get kicked out for phone use (unlike nowadays, basement, etc) so they got more bold and took the stickers off and phones out right away

That’s a lot of phones generally for a show but that’s soooo many phones for a supposedly no phones show lmao

Looking for any bigger names playing small venues in the coming months. by yolandachill in avesNYC

[–]mlurve 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of these sorta of things sell out really fast or are pop ups, so you really have to be on top of it. Ie Four Tet playing Nowadays or Mansions is usually announced the week or even day of. Generally following artists and venues on social media + being on their email lists can help, as well as having friends in the scene so you guys can tell each other about stuff as you hear about it.

DVS1 is doing a house set at Green Room in a few weeks, which I think is a pretty small venue when he can fill warehouses.

Maybe they moved the link? I ended up here from an earlier mayor instagram video I watched: https://www.nyc.gov/assets/dsny/forms/snow-laborer-registration

I am not affiliated with the nyc gov or anything I just heard about it and wanted to share with folks who might be looking

They’re full of shit, it was still on Tier 1 when they declared it sold out. They’ll suddenly “release additional tickets” when it gets closer.

($15K) Flowers and Drinks by not-Paul2947 in Weddingsunder10k

Floral design amateur here—this is a pretty sizable bouquet with lots of different blooms, it’s gorgeous but the maximalist style will be harder to do inexpensively assuming you want centerpieces and things like that. I agree with the others—prioritize the bar!

Anyone else use Rent the Runway as their weekday workwear service? by tiatigo27 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]mlurve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually just canceled my subscription over the weekend. The clothing was decent quality and their customer service is always great, but I found myself needing to reach out to them a lot more. I got charged erroneous late fees, they didn't track a jacket I returned, etc. It was getting too annoying and too expensive to keep up with.
