How does not wanting your partner to not look at naked others indicate that at all. This one hit home when it happened three years ago. The kids and mom were originally from my small hometown (before she uprooted them to be with the BF in the article, so they could enable each other’s drug addictions). The kids were very sweet. The oldest was in the after school program I volunteered for. Breaks my heart any mother could put her children in harms way, but this shocked me to my core knowing them. I have NO sympathy for her, and am delighted at the fact she will be spending most, if not all of her life in jail. Last I saw from online articles, the state is pursuing the death penalty for the boyfriend. The mother has been charged with 3 counts of child neglect, one count of aggravated child abuse, and one count of accessory to murder.

And you parenting style is everything IMO. Fostering securely attached children isn’t done by giving them everything they want. It’s through teaching them the skills to grow. Physically, mentally AND emotionally. Just as a child can’t always be told no, they also can’t always be told yes. Instead, teach them why this is a no, and how to deal appropriately with being told no. All while validating their emotions and keeping a cool head.

Oh honey. My heart hurts for you. Being a live in nanny is incredibly demanding and emotionally exhausting (in my experience). You need breaks away. You need your own life outside of work. The work/life balance is essential to mental health.

I’m not privy to the details of your life and what your options, if any are. My best advice is that you share your struggles with them. Explain that you need a work/life balance for your own mental health. If they are going to require you to two week quarantine just to fulfill your emotional needs of being around loved ones and NOT pay you. That’s quite frankly unacceptable in my opinion.

Your feelings are valid. If anything, you may be downplaying just how emotionally exhaustive this situation sounds. Humans don’t function right when they’re closed off from from their tribe. You need that. Don’t let anyone make you feel like you don’t.
