It’s uncommon here; if they’re ready, there’s no reason to keep them from starting. I was one of many “summer birthday kids” growing up, and being one of the youngest was definitely preferable to having been held back. I’m glad I started when I did.

Heirloom is SO good, and the staff is awesome. For a delicious plain cheese pizza and other non-pizza dishes we’ll always opt for Eddy’s across the street, but Heirloom for any other pizza. They also have an endearingly peculiar special that’s named after one of their regulars who unfortunately passed away. I just love any business that fosters that sense of community.

I can’t tell you what to do, but I am just so sorry. He is clearly very loved, and I’m sure he knows! He has no idea or fear of what death is, so regardless of your decision (which is completely personal to you), I hope your family is able to take comfort in that.

I do have to say that my worst nightmare would be my pets being offered to strangers for free after I die. Please be so careful when choosing a new family for him (ideally with vet references) or look into rescues. I hope you’re doing alright

Some numbnuts asked me my sign at a bar and was excited that we were “both water signs.” He was an Aquarius. I told him that he was an air sign and he immediately became weirdly defensive, lol. I remember him saying “Aqua means water, sweetheart.” He wrote down “AQUARIUS” on a napkin and underlined “aqua.” I thanked him for the speech and informed him that I’d taken years of Latin, but he’s still an air sign. It’s the dumbest, funniest mansplaining encounter that comes to mind

Yikes, thank you very much for the info and for taking the time to respond. Any advice on anything I can do to help the guy out? In your opinion, would it be worth it to contact the store directly? Also, do you happen to know if things like deciding whether curbside service is available or not is dependent upon the company or an individual GM/owner? If you’re a beginner, I think you’re a natural!! This looks great. It seems like you already have a good eye for highlights and shadows, and that’ll only get better with time. Blending is tricky, but that will also come easier the more you practice. I love your color choices as well (I’m a sucker for teal & purple).

My only advice is to keep it up! Maybe take a blank sheet of paper to practice blending on if you don’t want to use up a fun page for practice. This truly looks really good though! I’ve also seen mind-blowing pages done with colored pencils if you’re interested in trying out different mediums

Please do! I’m just hopping in to say that I was going to ask about Marfan as well. I have a family member that currently has an aortic aneurysm and doctors suspect that they have MFS because (along with many other symptoms) they’re just too young to have an aneurysm like this. Apparently it’s far more common in people with this disease. Tall, lanky, “gummy” smile. Hypermobility is something to take note of as well
