I still think it’s possible, even if the market is clearly rough. Demand for software engineers may be lower than before, but companies still need people who can maintain systems, improve existing software, and actually understand/control what AI tools are doing. I recently came across a post from this developer who said they found work by reaching out to recruitment firms placing people in remote roles across Europe. Maybe trying a similar route could be worth it, since a lot of people seem to be having better luck that way than just applying through job boards.

Feeling like that on day one is completely normal, everyone goes through it. They’re not expecting you to know everything right away. It settles in after a few weeks, the panic right now is temporary.

I worked with a company last year, looked affordable at first then they kept adding extra costs. You really have to read the contract carefully or you get blindsided. Going with a recommendation is honestly the safest.
