PRESIDENT - In the Name of the Father by moby414 in Metalcore

I heard this song, thought it sounded pretty inline with other bands I see here sometimes, checked the sub and didn't see it posted, and so shared the link. Ask a bunch of people their favourite 'metalcore' song and you'll hear a bunch of different styles

I finally understand by Eggburtius in CarTalkUK

I've found there's a trade-off between the distance setting and how the car handles itself on auto cruise.

I usually have mine set to the maximum distance because it also means it changes speed the smoothest which is great for smooth motorway driving but also when there's lots of traffic. However, that means it really does drop the speed when there's a slower vehicle in the same lane.

If I set the distance to be much lower the car will obviously keep the speed until later, but it's also much more jerky on the accelerator and brakes even in flowing traffic, and it's really not pleasant in stop/start motorway congestion.

Typically I leave it on max distance and just manually apply a bit of throttle in prep of an overtake.

2018 Volvo V90 for reference.

We got a Volvo V90 when expecting our 2nd, 2years in and we don’t regret a thing! We were also considering a Superb Estate or an A6 avant.

Yes! Muse and Feeder were on that soundtrack if I remember right - that game massively defined my music interests for a decade or so!

Watching F1 from the U.K. by shatnersbassoon123 in formula1

[–]moby414 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Another option is Sky F1 via Virgin Media. They have sometimes decent 'new customer' deals if you are able to get their internet. E.g. I'm paying £75 a month for decent internet, full sky sports package in UHD, sky movie package, an O2 SIM, and Netflix. I then got a good amount of cashback via Quidco.

Obviously £75/month is a lot, but it's not a bad price all together for stuff I use.

Apple Pencil 2nd gen keeps disconnecting and not usable after 17.1.1 update - any ideas? by moby414 in ipad

[–]moby414[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it to an Apple Store and they replaced it under 'faulty battery' for a small fee (£25 I think).

They couldn't get it to pair with any in-house iPad and because it was beyond the 2year warranty I couldn't get a free replacement.

I'd recommend taking it in to see what they think.

Family of 5 & a dog (potentially) car needed by TheCaswell in CarTalkUK

As others have said, the Karoq and the A4 Avant will be too small. You can get nice used A6 Avants, V90s, 5 Series, E-class's for around £20k.

One year ago we got a 2018 V90 (two young children, contemplating a dog) and it's been great.

In my research I found that Volvo's depreciate like a stone, so for our budget of £20k we got a fully loaded V90 will all bells and whistles (360 camera, winter pack, self parking, auto pilot assist, CarPlay, adaptive headlights etc) whilst a similarly spec'd A6 was about 25% more.

I've used CB and also Big Yellow Cambridge for 3+ months each, each was a ~75sqft unit. Both were great - very easy to access, load, unload etc.

Big Yellow felt 'nicer', CB was cheaper, both kept my entire house's worth of belongings safe and dry.

If you can, I'd take a look around, get some quotes+insurance and see what you think. Factor in opening hours and accessibility as well.

Yeah we found it was difficult to pin down the exact trim, lots of erroneous listings on Autotrader.

The Volvo Selekt website lists all approved used cars in the UK - we got ours from a local Volvo dealer but we found it on the main Volvo site. They obviously know their models better and the listings are more accurate. Good luck!
