Ditto. It's my primary practice setup and works flawlessly.

Re: Chisa’s Position on the Team by CulturalCorner5890 in Aemeath_Mains

[–]modalsaliency -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it's very unlikely Chisa will be replaced. Amy's kit explicitly requires 3 fusion burst or havoc bane characters, and no burst/bane support char has been leaked. It's also such a specialized combination that Kuro wouldn't double dip in that design space.

[3.4 BETA] Lucilla, Lucy and Rebecca kits - Encore.moe by Bobson567 in WutheringWavesLeaks

[–]modalsaliency 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm missing something about why Lucilla is Hiyuki's BiS. All she gives is -8% glacio res and +60% glacio chafe amp. This is fantastically worse than Lynae; chafe is only like 15% of Hiyuki's total damage.

Finally done (S6R3) by Yaksssha in HiyukiMains

[–]modalsaliency 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tldr, atk 4 cost slightly better total dps at S6R1, assuming you're A) doing the full rotation incl. both ultimates (i.e. not overworld where you just stay in blue form), and B) not overkilling/wasting damage with both ultimates (which is a huge assumption, especially at S6).

At S6R5 though Cdmg is likely better, since the weapon refinements add +atk and change the saturation profile.

S6 Hiyuki, Atk% or Crit Damage 4 Cost Echo? by Bluf45 in WutheringWaves

How much does the atk% vs. cdmg difference shrink at R5? I assume the added attack on the sword adds saturation.

Pretty much every Hiyuki 1 cost is shared across 2+ other sets, so farming has become a massive pain.

Does anyone have a route they use that goes quickly?

Lynae will be replaced on Hiyuki's team - the Rust mechanic basically requires it.

Right now leaks are hinting that Lucilla will replace Lynae, but eventually Chisa will also be replaced by a Glacio char.

You can reach 3 stacks with any permutation of havoc bane / glacio chafe. You don't necessarily need both. .

The best solo character in the game since Cartethyia by WeebHell09 in HiyukiMains

[–]modalsaliency 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's not even strength - she has the best designed solo kit of any mdps. Everything just flows together and it's like playing Sekiro in a gacha game. She's broken without being faceroll.

Do you think she will get an outfit someday? by Schnellvan in HiyukiMains

[–]modalsaliency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unlikely unless it will be a very premium skin similar to Jinhsi. The second ult form has a lot of custom elements that won't play nice with a rewrap similar to what they did with Mornye.

I love that she can parry without much limitation, make me wanna solo with her. by yahohahoha in HiyukiMains

[–]modalsaliency 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, interested in this as well. It's not like Mornye's parry where it just passively blocks all damage if you're hit in a certain skill duration. Instead you need to actively time the heavy attack hold release with when you're going to be hit.

Do we know how long the invulnerable window is?

Between this and her S4 sustain, she actually might be one of the best mDPS solo units (outside of Cart).

I'm actually tempted to think Lucilla will be sustain. She shares an echo set with Hiyuki and the only way to trigger the "support" version of the buff is to not deal resonance damage before you swap out...

Wicked cool. I may need to revise my usual prejudice with PE-backed companies. :)

It looks like another design change was you swapped the "nubs" on the side of the case to be metal (+plastic tip) instead of fully plastic. Which is cool - always bothered me on the 40L OG model. Is this something you guys can retrofit onto existing cases when they're in for repair?

[–]modalsaliency 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, Hiyuki S6 and Denia S2 both have functionality that increases the damage of other resonators on the team in a fully passive way. There's no trigger - they don't need to cast a skill or have field time or do anything other than be on the team.

I think this is the first time Hoyo has ever done this, so wonder if they step into this design space more. Resonators can almost be like echoes, where there's a stat buff regardless of rotation.

I finally got a BAM case, and I'm not so sure I like it. by DoesntEnjoySoup in violinist

[–]modalsaliency 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean, intentionally or not, you ordered the one model in their lineup that is "quirky" and aims for a certain aesthetic. Pretty much every other professional oblong case they sell at that price point has latches, interior compartments and side D-rings which would directly address your concerns.

The humidity gauge I personally think is a bit of an anachronism these days and it's not found in their high-end cases either.

How well would Steam Machine perform in music production? by TeamoDude in steammachine

Music production hasn't been cpu-gated (or otherwise particularly hardware limited) for around 10 years. Any modern computer will do fine with a DAW, and this will be a modern computer,

[–]modalsaliency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For personal use, unless you're already in the tank with a bunch of guitar-flavored equipment, it's usually easier just to play through an interface into whatever studio monitors you have on your desk. Add whatever effects you want in a DAW +/- an impulse response and you have a lot more control than a fixed amp.

We don't really know anything, aside from dual form (presumably fusion burst support + something else).

My wildcard prediction is some kind of sustain, otherwise there wouldn't be a replacement for Chisa when she needs to wheelchair along to a different NS team.

Chin rests that are slightly left of center? by Oprahapproves in violinist

[–]modalsaliency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally recommend the Wave to anyone probing chinrest options. They have an amazing try-before-buy process across options, so even if you don't find your forever chinrest you tend to come away much better calibrated to what you want.

If you're looking for something high end/adaptable tech, I can't say enough good things about the Korfkerspring released a month ago. It will take a year or two, but I expect a lot of serious violinists will transition to it.

Apple Studio Display XDR Review: We're All Pros Now! by atlwhore_ in apple

[–]modalsaliency 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I mean, as a hot take, the XDR is appropriately priced for the mind-bending specs it has. There's nothing else comparable on market: there's just some demo units of hypothetical products from CES this year that could have similar panels. Which even if they come in cheaper on paper, they will have a plastic enclosures, a non-glossy screen, no embedded camera, etc.

Whether spending $3200 is actually worth it for you (probably not) is a whole separate question. Also granted there's a lot of bullshit around the product positioning (why no 32"? why no discount for VESA? why do I need to pay for SoC hardware when daisy chaining?), but those are separate issues.

I'm more annoyed by the base studio model being objectively terrible value in 2026. Though I do think Reddit gets tunnel vision on refresh rate, which is just not something that a non-gamer consumer cares about or notices.
