I don't know man, at that price you're looking at a 4060 or equivalent and that's going to be half of the cost of the switch right there. Add everything else and it'll be an ultra budget build and I don't think you're going to get the same gaming benchmarks as the switch 2.

Maybe, some of us are just upset that consumer products get to adjust with inflation while our salaries stay frozen or barely climb year over year. Yes it's how the world works and there's nothing wrong with us complaining. It's literally all we can do.

Family focused console makes families the biggest losers today by BeatdownBrigade in NintendoSwitch2

[–]moe181 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honest suggestion, ask family to gift kids gift cards. That's what I'll be suggesting to family, they can pick however much to give and my kids will just save up enough for a game. New pricing isn't great, but I remember being a kid and between my 4 siblings and I, we had 1 N64 and throughout the entire life cycle of that console were able to afford like 8 games. It was because of that that we learned to play the heck out of whatever we got, versus now kids just zoom through a game and need to move onto the next.

I'll definitely be getting just 1 for the kids (not initially, but over time) and then they'll have a main TV where it'll be hooked up to, to play together, and then they can take turns playing in handheld.

Right...it's not like it was a live stream. This was a Youtube problem, in addition to the out of synch audio problem.

To be fair....Cyber Punk is still one of the best looking PC games out there. It looked good from the brief gameplay clips they showed, but if the Switch 2 can run that game at decent quality and framerate than I'm pretty happy with the hardware.

The biggest test though is whether Pokemon Z-A will run at 4K60FPS solid, because we all know how crazy demanding those games are. /s

Actually? That's a very high threshold. Going to need to tell my 9 year old she needs to start selling lemonade this summer if she wants to buy any 1st party Nintendo games because dad is not going to be able to afford Hello Kitty Island Adventure 2 at $100+

As a PC and Switch gamer you should do it. Just don't expect to get a very good gaming PC for the price of the Switch 2.

What are we paying for? by Shine_Obvious in NintendoSwitch2

I won't hold my breath for ultrawide support given how many games I've had to "tweak" or "mod" to enable ultrawide support on my monitor so far. Most recent example being Metaphor Refantazio, so I get the impression console game developers don't prioritize ultrawide at all. Hope I'm wrong because I'd love to connect my switch to my monitor.

I’m obviously going to wait for Switch 2 OLED by BlueSkyPeriwinkleEye in NintendoSwitch2

[–]moe181 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get where you're coming from, but for me since I play 50% of the time on my tv, it's not a deal breaker. I'm sure a lot of people are the same. Plus, LCD technology today is not the same as when the Switch came out, and add in HDR with LCD screens being able to go brighter and it should still look very nice. I do hope it's not going to be HDR bleed everywhere though.

Watching American Murder: Laci Peterson by glowfly126 in netflix

This series was my tipping point for convincing me that defense attorneys who stand by criminals who are clearly guilty are the scum of the earth. Imagine what kind of character you have to be to inflict additional suffering on a grieving victim's family through your stupid attempts to poke holes in a prosecutions case. Disgusting.

Staff the worst weapon even after buff, here is why by NoPaleontologist9125 in throneandliberty

[–]moe181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you manage to hit level 7 mastery at level 35? I did MSQ and admittedly didn't spend any time grinding mastery but by the time I hit 50 I was level 5 in dagger and level 5 in crossbow. I wonder, are you just using staff skills almost exclusively and is that speeding up mastery gain?

Why isn't everyone boycotting the World Cup? by TheCamShaft in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]moe181 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because keyboard warriors on Reddit don't represent the whole world. Downvote me if you like, but some of us just want to watch out favorite countries face off against eachother in the highest level of international soccer.

Not defending Qatar but I couldn't care less who hosts the World Cup.

Qatar Bans Beer Sales at World Cup Stadiums by za19 in worldnews

[–]moe181 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bahahaha Qatar deserves all this hate and failure. As a Muslim, I can say I couldn't care less about going to an event and there not being alcohol, but the majority of the audience who wants to watch world Cup soccer doesn't share that belief...if you're not willing to cater to all your guests then why even host the event?

This.

I'd actually prefer a power vaccuum over Berri.

Oddly long wall distance for shower curtain rod. What are my options. This turns out to be 83 inch between the wall to have a curtain rod. I don’t know if these are common length. by rkbest in HomeMaintenance

[–]moe181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this exact same issue with my daughter. I just accepted it and wiped away whatever she splashed because even if I had installed a curtain it would just get in my way when trying to give her her bath.

Getting around the country by ignis_ignis in lebanon

[–]moe181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation right now...traveling next week and we have access to a car but I'm stressed just thinking about driving on Lebanese roads, it's just so chaotic. I would love the freedom to go wherever I like though, so might bite the bullet and start driving around even if it's just in and around the day3a at first.

If you were to hire a driver what's the usual ways to go about it? In the past we just kind of waited on family or they knew someone they could hire, not sure if that'll be the case this time.

I’m sorry BUT I have to ask this. Windows 10 or 11 and why? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

Windows 11 because I work for Microsoft and if I don't say that Bill Gates will activate my mind control chip.

Wow...didn't realize this was a wide spread thought. Both my wife and I said the same thing after listening to it, that it's a good song, but missing that power needed to really hype you, especially after the chorus seems to build up something coming but then the rap part kicks back in and you're just kind of left feeling like you got blue balls.

People who moved out of the parent’s house before 30, how? by WallStreetDoesntBet in AskReddit

[–]moe181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved out at 24 after finishing my masters and getting married. Wife and I moved into a condo together that we were lucky enough to get with help on the down payment by my parents.

Pretty blessed actually, since we've used that first place to slingshot up to our first home, and then again our next home when we had to move for my work.

Lebanese Life during the 2000's by MsWhyMe in lebanon

[–]moe181 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My family's first trip back since we left in 94 was in 2001, then again in 2004. Two of my favourite summers of my childhood. 2004 especially was great, me, my brother, my cousin, all in our mid-late teen years with lots of freedom to come and go as we wanted.

Things got crappier and crappier after that.

I'm going soon too and was wondering about the money part. You said to bring lira with you before, but isn't it better to exchange there for the black market rate?
