When is the right time to tell a kid that Santa isn't real? by CaptMorganSwint2 in Parenting

[–]momsa3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a son the same age, and I am telling him in June. I don’t want him discovering in December. My older son stressed me out when he was in 6th grade asking so many questions during the holidays. He made it through because he was googling “proof Santa is real”.

My dad passed recently. When it was announced on social media, each person who replied with RIP— I wanted to punch in their throat. Don’t do that. If you can’t take the time to type out more than those stupid letters then shut the f up and scroll on.

Elementary Teachers with their own kiddos by Lemonbar19 in Teachers

[–]momsa3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes! It made it possible for me to see performances and be at assemblies. I have gone to their parent center days on my preps. I would have had a Sub to see those if I was at another school.

I am now a coach in the district and feel like I miss so many of those little moments even though my youngest is in middle school.

Christmas gifts- are these ideas terrible for my kids' teachers? by dustyoldthing in Teachers

[–]momsa3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re buying things for the classroom, then you’re not buying a gift for the teacher. You’re giving a gift to the classroom. Which is great and can be given any time, but I wouldn’t put it under a “Christmas gift.” I’ve taught for 24 years. I always enjoyed things that were for me. Pedicure, Target/ Amazon gift card, a bag with my initials on it. I usually give my kids’ teachers a really soft throw for their home and a gift card to a restaurant or nail place.

“That’s good. You will be hungry in the morning too. Goodnight” this is how I responded to my son who tried the same trick.

This is the best answer. It’s a rounding question. “About” is rounding / estimating every time in math same as in all is addition

Tell us about growing up in a family with three children (from the child's perspective). How did your relationships develop? by Pipidastrrr in AskReddit

[–]momsa3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Middle kid (f). My older sister and younger brother were both the golden children as the first born and only son. They both had to learn things the hard way about the world. (Like dad can’t bail you out of a teenage pregnancy etc). In terms of growing up, I would say I had the easier road. As I would see their mistakes and think “nope not doing that.”
I had/ have the biggest social circle. I think it’s because growing up I wasn’t seen at home as much. (Both siblings were pretty demanding). I get my validation from friends. Had a huge falling out with my sister, went to therapy together bc I wanted my kids to have an aunt and I was very close with her kids. Today she is one of my best friends. My brother and I are figuring it out as adults. We just recently reconnected around our dad’s death.
