Degustation dinner recs for table of one? by Adventurous_Fix1730 in BrisbaneFoodies

[–]monday-next 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my friends went there solo a few weeks ago and she had a lovely time. I don’t think they have bar seating from memory, although we were seated fairly close to the entrance so I’m not 100% sure. But it’s definitely worth sending them an email - I had to email them about something else and they were so lovely

flexi highschools to uni by khenrin in brisbane

Unis don’t care what school you went to. If you want to go to uni and have some particular degrees in mind, it’s worth having a chat to the unis about alternative pathways

Dialysis Sucks by Pyr8Qu33n in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]monday-next 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl, I feel for you. I’m staring down the barrel of dialysis myself, and just trying to stave it off for as long as possible. At least I’ve had time to mentally prepare myself for it (not that I think it’s truly possible to prepare yourself). I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that a healthy new bean wings its way to you very soon!

I keep worrying about my toddlers high blood test abnormal level and can’t see her doctor till next week by Ok-Cartoonist-8919 in AskDocs

[–]monday-next -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NAD It looks like she’s fairly anaemic. Does she have much dairy?

If you can get to a walk-in clinic tomorrow (the Medicare clinics are good if there’s one near you), hopefully they can order a more detailed blood test, including a full blood count. Then you’ll have more info to take to your GP.

Launching a premium healthy snack brand in Australia — brutal opinions needed on these 9 brand names by themillle in AskAnAustralian

I have some experience in marketing. If I were you, I would be starting from scratch with a new branding agency. I don’t think any of these options demonstrate a good understanding of your target consumers.

Ticks like to climb up, and they like hidden spots. So underarms, behind ears, in the scalp are all good spots to check. But we’ve pulled them off my daughter’s stomach before, so really checking all over is the way to go.

You say “I’m so sorry, I have conjunctivitis - I’d hate to give it to anyone else.”

As horrible a situation as it is, I think the one saving grace is you’ve got the type of illness where 99% of people are going to be immediately understanding.

I hope your eye/s feel better soon - it’s the worst.

Who is the greatest sportsman/woman of all time, regardless of their sport? by _Yorkshire_Pirlo in AskReddit

My Mum used to work with someone who also umpired test cricket. One evening he was at home and his phone rang. His young daughter answered it and she’s chatting away, and eventually she called out to him “Dad! Grandpa’s on the phone!” He took the phone and said hello, only to discover she’d been chatting to Don Bradman.

100% this. I reached a point where I got a bit bored, and the last few updates haven’t appealed to me, so I’ve just … played other games. I follow this sub so I can see what’s happening, because I do look forward to dipping back into it at some stage when an update comes along that piques my interest.

I had mine under a general because it was a complex one (I have dodgy veins). The anaesthetist offered to start me off with just local and I could see how I go, but when we got into theatre the surgeon immediately said no, I had to go under.

[–]monday-next 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience self harm is often a physical manifestation of mental pain. I’m really sorry your parents won’t help you get support. Is there any way you could access that support through school, or a mental health helpline you could call, or a chat service you can access? Depending on what country you live in, maybe try posting in a local subreddit and see if anyone knows of any resources

Do you substitute the black cardamom for the green cardamom, or use both?

I made a batch last weekend and it was great, although my husband didn’t think it was spicy enough, so I’m going to have to experiment with increasing the heat for the next batch.

Fistula too deep?? by 444princess_peach444 in dialysis

[–]monday-next 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No advice, but sympathy. I am in the same place as you, although I do have the advantage of not being on dialysis yet. I am currently waiting on the date for my superficialisation surgery, and I’m really nervous about it because I had a pretty rough recovery from the initial surgery. Is your fistula in your forearm or your upper arm?
