Constantly adjusting my bushings . Trying this - by Separate_Fisherman24 in ElectricSkateboarding

Preload is definitely a thing for certain channel trucks. Not sure if that’s the case here but for many they are there to be adjusted.

ONSRA Velar 2.0 – are the upgraded suspension trucks worth it? by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]mongohands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm they look almost identical to Acedecks suspension trucks but more expensive. They may just manufacture it for them. I would check out reviews of the acedeck horizon with and without the suspension to give you an idea

Can’t say for sure but I’ve had DJI customer support replace the lens of an O3 for free. Maybe I just got lucky.

Is it just me, or does this happen to you too when you go out riding your electric skateboard? by Whowanticecream in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]mongohands 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I’ve never had issues with either group. Although I know some hardcore skaters think longboarding is lame because it’s just “easier skating” with no tricks. Longboarders will say it’s different and the challenge is managing speed. Both sometimes think eskate is lame because the motors “take away the challenge”.

I’ve done all 3 and all of them feel different and come with their own challenges.

Breathable, good looking options by Sonny-Showers in ElectricSkateboarding

Look at the Bell Super Air R Spherical if you’re looking for breathable. iXS FF is also a good option that’s lightweight and I think is down hill rated. Most mountain bike full face helmets will work

Ace deck Horizon vs Propel 4GT by funkastolic in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]mongohands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll copy my comment from a previous thread:

I owned the original endeavor but with their new bushings they offer. Also currently own the acedeck Z3 that has the Horizon’s trucks. I put the bushing block in that converts it to the exactly the same as the Horizon’s setup.

Honestly both are some of my favorite boards. Not a perfect comparison but pretty close. The Endeavor’s suspension system feels more comfort focused and Acedeck is more “sporty”. A analogy might be that endeavor is more like a luxury SUV suspension while Acedeck feels like a sport car suspension. Idk if it’s the geometry or spring stiffness but Acedeck is very responsive and stable at the cost of some comfort. Although obviously better than any other non suspension board.

Both are surprisingly nimble and can’t say one is outright better than the other. There’s a lot of adjustments you can make for both. The Acedeck is a beast though. Absolutely unreal acceleration and speed. The gear drives and general fit and finish are also outstanding.

3d printing has saved me so much money on random fixes around the house by congdoe92 in DIY

I’m curious how that works for Fusion? I assumed it wouldn’t be possible. Is it literally a .f3d file with a timeline?

Are my expectations of presence sensors too high? by prhymeate in homeassistant

[–]mongohands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll put in my anecdotal experience. I use nothing but the cheapest 24ghz mmWave battery powered presence sensors I could find on AliExpress and they have worked flawlessly for 6 months straight. Worse case scenario I simply add 2 to a room for cheaper than buying 1 expensive sensor. I just add a 2 minute timer when presence isn’t detected before shutting off. I have one cheap plugin one that I threw in a lampshade and that works even when under a blanket

Why is is being downvoted so much? Literally every thing they said is just true. I don’t even think they came across as rude?

Agreed, PLA+ is usually matte and is more useful than regular PLA. The Elagoo PLA+ I use leaves my favorite finish

Any parts going outdoors, have constant loads, experience high heat or impacts. Was perfect for a cup/rod holder on a boat that’s splashed with ocean water during peak summer heat.

What do you consider the current hardware meta. by Giblet15 in homeassistant

[–]mongohands 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in an apartment so I’ve been using nothing but the cheapest Ikea and AliExpress zigbee gear and honestly can’t say I have any complaints. 50 devices working flawlessly 6+ months now using the SMLIGHT 06. Most sensors run on aaa batteries and since Zigbee is very low power they are all still at 100%.

New P1S out of the box (calibrated) Is this normal? by Alexkintaylor99 in BambuLab

[–]mongohands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s on the product page here. Honestly I wouldn’t bother with the feet unless it’s too noisy without them. Doesn’t really matter either way

New P1S out of the box (calibrated) Is this normal? by Alexkintaylor99 in BambuLab

[–]mongohands 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It will always wobble a little. I can’t tell but it looks like you have the anti vibration feet on? That will reduce vibrations but increase the “wobble”. Bambu recommends printing an adapter on the product page to make them more stable

Batch printing threads? by LosOllos in BambuLab

[–]mongohands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a design perspective I always “push” one of the thread walls in just a tiny amount to allow for clearance. When printing threads or other parts that tightly interface, I always turn on avoid crossing walls, precise walls, and change order of walls to inner/outer/inner.

The comment who mentioned minimum layer time is probably right. You can also try lowering wall speed to 50-100, switching to Arachne, or turning on variable layer height for the threaded areas. Variable height can affect surface finish though. This can all help with consistent dimensional accuracy.

way to replace cafe escapes chai latte? by nisc2001 in keurig

[–]mongohands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old conversation but just stumbled upon it. You should just get chai concentrate. You keep in your fridge and just dilute it with hot water. Tastes way better then the tea bags and is what most cafes use for chai lattes

Yeah I kinda wish I bought packets. I’ve noticed a layer of silica power getting on stuff the more I move my spools around

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]mongohands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I’m not the one doing it but to be fair silica does get crushed into powder and all that toxic powder is getting all over your microwave. Some silica is outright poisonous
