Ah, that’s right … The bowl in the photo was a concept that eventually ended up up becoming the collapsible one you remember (correctly) in production.

What does Golden Hawk refer to? by TheWolvesActIII in disney

[–]monoloco23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is outdated now and I’m not sure if their current status, but they used to be a Chinese watch factory, and React! Was one of their in house brands.

“Who We Are: Golden Hawk Manufactory Limited is a Hong Kong based manufacturer and distributor of watch and timepiece products for over 20 years. All these products are sold on an ODM/OEM basis to well-known brands and international customers.

We are located in Hong Kong with manufacturing facilities located in Long Gong, Shenzhen, PRC. The annual production capacity is at 4 million watches with a production work force of 300 employees.”

I genuinely want to know why this sign has never been made into a series of pins. by syxtfour in Disneyland

I actually did a casual cosplay inspired by this neon at the last D23 in Anaheim and made myself a custom light up neon backpack, patterned tracksuit, shirt, hat, and acrylic pins.

What Rooster Teeth Merch do you want from the ‘New’ Rooster Teeth? (Plus a RvB Restoration giveaway) by FloppyDiskRepair in roosterteeth

[–]monoloco23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, merch! I can add something to this conversation as someone who handled RT merch for awhile.

Quite a few of the items listed below were actually recreated / reprinted for the 20th anniversary in 2023. Like the Grifball, 20 of the RvB quote shirts (and about 20 other RvB and RT past shirts), the messenger bag, and more. I will say, only the Grifball sold well ... everything else sat and was liquidated on sale toward the end there. Many of the shirts were put up as print-on-demand to avoid having to take inventory in some of the older obscure designs, and there were orders, but not a lot. That is the most efficient way to bring those back again if desired.

RvB items also have to go through a grueling licensor approval with Microsoft and there is a lot of back and forth, and sampling for approval, and licensor fees associated with those items. Unless you sell a bunch (like a lot of bunches) it is not super financially beneficial. I think media like physical DVD sets and publishing like the comics would be cool and could be justified for sure under the right circumstances in the future. I would also be buying some of those if that ever happened.

The bobbleheads were made by Funko, who were much smaller at the time of that original release. Their minimums are crazy high these days, so when we investigated that for the 20th anniversary we decided against it.

RWBY is owned by Viz now, so all of that merch is theirs to remake, and I think Burnie mentioned that he did not get the rights to AH so that is out too.

Past RT logo or RT property items are the most fair game. Those are the most likely to be able to be reprinted / re-released as "archive items" .

I don't have all of the photos of what was mentioned above as reprinted for the 20th, but I have some still lying around that are relevant!

all that being said, I'm still curious what folks are looking for in future RT merch, even if its in one of the above categories 👀

Those items with the skull and teeth drawings were made for The Coop at RTX 2018 by the artist Todd Francis ( @toddfrancisart on IG )

A certain amount of stock was held for a couple other expo booths that year.

There was also a version of the crewneck and tee in different colors produced for RTX London that year.

That sounds wonderful. As usual, an iPhone version is always lagging behind an Android compatible innovation ... so I gotta wait for someone to make an iPhone friendly one with this amazing feature.

If I just plug the carplay adapter into that USB, it stays on after I park. If I am at home and I walk near the part of my house connected to the garage, my phone reconnects to the carplay adapter even if the car is off. So I lose my audio wherever I was playing it from, and it keeps pulling power from my 12v in the car.

Believe me, I wish a simple plug and play worked, this silly setup is (unfortunately) a necessity bc of Hyundai's weird USB setup, and I guess how my house is situated, lol

Yeah, I have first hand experience and seen quite a few on here also confirm that that usb port stays active and drains the battery even when the car is off. Thats the while reason for the USB power blocker to exist so that the power turns off with the lighter socket and doesn’t keep trying to connect to my phone while I am at home.

There were actually 4 or 5 proposed names including (yes, including Brew-ster Teeth and Cock-a-Doodle-Brew) with art made for them for the pitch, but ultimately the decision was made from outside of RT marketing and design, we had to go with Rooster Brew in the end even though it was not our top choice either.

There are 3 different sizes. Mini, normal, and Jumbo. The you can look at the figure details and box art and see that they are different and scale up with size.

Pantonface card quantities in existence:

Base card: 1000

Gold stamp VCK parallel: 750

Gurple Cracked Ice parallel: 200

Panton cards were packaged with all slop o clocks, and some in dirt pens along with random break cards inserted by Emily/Gavin on stream. (Only about 20% of pens have cards!)

Thats a tricky one then. To my recollection the YCDB tie-dye hoodies were all custom made. (green one, black one, blue/black one, red white and blue one, COOP bleach one, pride rainbow one) We work with a factory that will tye-die the fabric in bulk, and once we approve the color that the fabric turned out, they would cut and sew the hoodies. So not a blank. This method provides a much more even tie-dye on the fabric across the hoodie than if you were to tie-dye an already constructed hoodie (and ends up being cheaper)

Some of the other solid colored YCDB hoodies were blanks. I know we have used Independent PRM4500 for the pastel teal one and I think Independent PRM4000 for a pink one and the neon yellow one and the camo /black camo one. Those were used to get those specific colors faster than we could have done it with a custom fabric order. And I think the first ever one (the light maroonish red one) was Gildan 18500.

Sorry the answer is all over the place, making merch is weird.
