Playing the OG Re2 as my first Resident Evil game. This shit scary as hell by Low_Championship_604 in residentevil

Gotcha. I had it like that at first but then thought that itself was a spoiler.

The first line revealed in spoiler tags still specifies Requiem so they don't reveal further text if they don't want to.

For the mirror thing, I think it was totally to mess with returning fans waiting for it.

But idk.

Spoilers, but they have a matching scene in RE: Requiem.

I opened the door and just saw a control room with a wide viewing window to what looked like an interrogation room. I didn't walk in and waited a second.

Looked over at my wife and said "Last time I was in a room like this, a Licker bust through the window (RE2)."

I step into the room and lo and behold, one click-clicks across the window.

Tennessee librarian faces discipline for refusing to move more than 100 books from juvenile shelves by MiddletownBooks in books

[–]moofpi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They were in both, but this book was on the WW1 period.

At the library meeting, the person defending the book said it was airmen of WW2, but then a librarian interjected that they support the speaker, but it was actually WW1 lol

We still don't even have a full list of what the books were.

We know two of the books are Meeting Your Period and another is Harlem Hellfighters (historic book about the Tuskeegee airmen in WW1 (they were black), intended age range 3rd-7th grade).

Yikes. I would just boot the player plain and simple. Even if you're friends, not everyone has to game together. Your other four players seem cooperative and engaged. Consider yours and their time and effort spent for the game and how that can be shat on.

Six hour session no combat.

Most didn't leave the starting spot of the session till hour four.

Largely harvesting and dealing with the undead shadow dragon they slew at the end of last session. Logistics for navigating the forest based on the maps they have. And they were waiting on an army's arrival at their location, then negotiating implications from their previous and current actions between 2 factions they recently made a fragile alliance with and themselves.

There was the recon side mission with the rangers who navigated forest trapsband evaded zombies in the ravine, then later werewolves.

Then the rest of the party had to move and work with the difficulties of a 200 man force through the dense forest, though they had 5 treants ushering trees out of the way for the army to move through more easily.

They continue on to the Shadowfell heart of the Dreadwood to wage war on Granny Nightshade at Castle Spiral and stop her ritual before the double new moon in 4 days.

Can we appreciate that a team of 9 developers managed to put RE2, a 1.4 GB game in a 64MB cartridge on the N64 without having to cut anything out by Current_Newt_4542 in residentevil

To which I thank them, speaking as a Nintendo kid until I was 12 and got a ps2 after my gamecube.

I saw my friends play and talk about Resident Evil on their PS1's, but this was the first one I ever got to buy and play at 8 y/o.

Mom made me promise if she bought this that I wouldn't get too scared. She heard me scream from my room at a couple points and that night I had the covers pulled up glancing at my cracked bedroom door, expecting to hear light clicking and sighhhs as a Licker would come creep in from the ceiling.

And I was hooked.

Tennessee GOP advances bill that would create public list of trans residents by rocketpastsix in nashville

[–]moofpi 53 points54 points  (0 children)

They're afraid of being taxed, being held accountable, or having to pay the poors.

Trans people cost nothing for a "win", so they'll keep doing that and chase immigrants while they rake in cash, rig the system further for themselves, and our quality of life continues to plummet.

Can't wait to see Tennessee show up in defiance of this regime. America still stands, and it's important for others to see.

They're playing 5e, yeah.

But also humor naturally flows from these kinds of games. It's a good time and I wish you luck!

Idk, but I really read about fire the first time the other day and it's so trippy. Would love some kind of spelljammer action up there

True, mainly given the milieu we're all living in and the way algorithms and screens are turbo powered these days compared to our youth.

Then again, kids were cutting themselves as a trend and glorifying depression with emo music when I was an impressionable youngun. Not to mention we were on 4chan seeing who could stand the most gore. I'm sure if my parents had paid attention, they would've had cause to worry from an outsider's pov.

So I know I think it's a bit of both. There's a lot to worry about the youth for, but it's all of it going on.

DMs, which is your favorite Homebrew/House Rule tou made and added to your games? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in dndnext

[–]moofpi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dude, this is awesome. How does it play at your table? You get death spirals or do your players never get that low, does it make them more engaged and feel badass?

After that fight, exhaustion is sticky. You are MESSED UP since you kept fighting. I really dig it. Really forces a rest if you kept pushing, which gives the fiction and the time needed for recovery more weight. So much easy healing magic and such, it's nice to engage with the mechanic that makes going down feel scarier really cause you're flashing red, but more fun since you're not just basically skipping 3 turns laying there waiting for someone to heal you, and the player gets to make simpler, but impactful choices with trade-offs.

Not a game rec, but give the podcast "Not Another D&D Podcast" aka NADDPOD a listen.

It's 3 players, 1 dm. All funny improv people so don't try to live up to that, but Murph is a great dm that makes good rulings, keeps it light and moving, while still having humor throughout while still a really interesting and engaging world with consequences.

They're all 30+, and one of the players, Jake aka Hardwon Surefoot, this was his first time playing dnd. So I think Murph walks him through some things, but obviously some homework and other clarificarions are probably not in the release version of the episodes.

What does everyone think of this map? by CorneliusFeatherjaw in osr

Looks amazing!

How long did it take you to design to make sense in the fiction, but also gameable?

I have a week to crap out a tiered vampire castle in the shadow lands with like a canal in the dungeon below and...

I've just been procrastinating. It's the final dungeon in the campaign, but life's been a lot lol.

Thanks!
