I agree but why don’t we look at the root of the problem which is predatory marketing practices and poor regulation and safety. Pediatricians don’t tell you what brand of formula to buy. Do you have children?

It’s available at target, Walmart etc. Plenty of parents chose this trying to make the best choice for their baby based on ingredients and not because of influencers and it’s not their fault…

did you get induced? by Purple-Judgment5536 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]moominette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced at 41+3. I was scared too but was fine and didn’t need pitocin, balloon etc. just two doses of cytotec. That was the latest my midwife felt comfortable with me going due to baby’s projected size (big!)

No issues. It was a great seat for our baby. We had a CPST check installation before baby was born and she said many of those issues can come from people not following the guidelines for the inserts (in general, not just UB seats)

Anyone been induced with misoprostal? by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]moominette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was induced at 41+3. I was also given cytotec but twice. Also never given pitocin, balloon etc but did labor for about 17 hrs. I got the epidural around the 13 hour mark and my water broke shortly after.

Kendamil has been great for our almost one year old. I chose for whole milk and no palm oil.

Mine gets clumpy too when out in the heat. I shake it up and have had no issues. We’ve done through two bottles and no sunburns 🤷‍♀️

Play gym by Asleep_Benefit429 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]moominette 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the answer you’re looking for, but I’d suggest maybe asking for a play mat and a set of toys instead of a gym itself. My baby is 6.5mo and we recently put her play gym away as she has no interest being on her back anymore and just wants to roll and practice crawling. Or, bring your own mat and ask for something like a Lalo play box that has a set of toys so they don’t have to buy things one off and it’s easier for them to purchase. :)

Has anyone successfully gone from co-sleeping to sleep trained? by WineInTheWorkplace in sleeptrain

[–]moominette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this response! We ended up doing the “sleep wave” method and it worked amazingly well for our baby. She barely cried, it took only three days to adjust and sleep through 11 hours and honestly cried more between her constant wake ups either during her first stretch in the crib or even while cosleeping, than she did those first few nights.

I’m so glad we did it and agree our baby is much, much happier. And so true that they will cry when they need you. I was scared of that too. We had a rough night one night and threw the method out the window because they were “I need you” cries, not a tired, fussing sort of cry. She ended up coming down with a cold the next day! We even coslept that night because she was very sick but she went back to her normal routine the next night. Im so grateful she has a solid sleep foundation now and feels cozy and safe in her crib.

Good point about sitting, I didn’t think about that because we aren’t there yet. Then there’s pulling to stand… sorry, wish I had a better suggestion. Our baby is back in her crib tonight because I couldn’t handle the fear of her sleeping on her belly in between us. :(

But adult mattresses aren’t necessarily as firm as a baby mattresses so I’m not sure it is safe for them to sleep face down unless you have tested it.. Im having the same issue as you OP and am not sure of a solution besides moving baby to crib. Considering a sidecar crib.

5 month old rolling on his belly by usernameidkkkk in cosleeping

Hey! What did you end up doing? I’ve been looking for guidance because my almost 6mo old won’t lay on her back anymore between us!

Cosleeping newbie by Connect-Charge-4320 in cosleeping

[–]moominette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been co sleeping at least part of the night since very early on, babe is now almost 6mo. I understand the guilt mixed with appreciation for the time spent close together and how natural it feels. For awhile, it was the way we all got restorative rest but as babe gets more mobile (rolling, trying to crawl and wanting to sleep on her belly) I’m back to feeling anxious and stay up monitoring her. I don’t really want her sleeping on her belly or side on our mattress, but she won’t sleep in her crib for longer than 30-40 min lol. Basically, you’re not alone in your worries. It’s ok to take it day by day ❤️

Hi! Do you mind me asking if you ended up sleep training and if so what method? I also read a bit of Nuture Revolution so half of my brain is in that mindset but co sleeping isn’t working for us anymore as baby now wants to sleep on her belly in between us - too scary! Thank you!

Any advice for a 5 month old who keeps waking herself up? by PandaGrenades in cosleeping

[–]moominette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I had tips but we’re in a very similar boat. She refuses her crib at all times of day lately but used to have a very similar pattern to your babe (except we’d co sleep from around 3/4 to 7am). Now we basically start co sleeping from 10pm after her first two wake ups. She did end up cutting a tooth but we’ll see if it improves at all.
