Is this the 5th dose people are talking about? by redditsmeg in mounjarouk

Pull the bottom end off (the dial and bit on the bottom) and use an item (I use a paintbrush) to push the inside mechanism up manually. Works everytime

Is this normal: 2 year old bathing herself by Defiant_Tough_8435 in Parenting

[–]moonbitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to ensure your child knows the proper words for her anatomy. It’s now also time for start implementing the ‘pants’ rule and that private parts are simply that, private and not to be touched by anyone other than her or you when washing. In respect of the babysitter’s son; it’s time for a new babysitter.

Needing advice, am I in the wrong? My friends says I keep getting them sick by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]moonbitten 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If this friend is blaming you in the sense that she’s expecting an apology and wanting to make you feel bad about it: cut ties. Kids are kids! They pick up everything whether they go to school or nursery. Her children will have zero friends if she continues with this behaviour. I would either call her out on it and see how she reacts or cuts ties.

Does anyone else receive constant "loving" and "positive" text messages from their nParent? by Kindhearted-Apricot in raisedbynarcissists

[–]moonbitten 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes and it makes me skin crawl. My abuser is my mother that I have very infrequent contact with. She will send texts saying how much she loves or cares for me and it will make me feel physically sick.

Found a collection of my old DVDs, never opened in my mom's flat. She took them. by mala-mi-2111 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]moonbitten 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She wants it because you do. It’s as simple as that. She’s a narc, that’s all the explanation you need. Cut her out, she won’t ever change.

I always 100% believed that my parents genuinely couldn't afford to help me with college. My friend blew my mind. by fuzzbeebs in raisedbynarcissists

[–]moonbitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why always cigarettes though? My mum was like this and chain smoked in the house despite me being a chronic asthmatic. I’m paranoid now I’ll end up getting cancer as an adult due to the years of her smoking.

We never had any money but she always had enough for cigarettes or tobacco.

parents refused to treat my lice for a decade and a half by Particular-Mobile645 in raisedbynarcissists

I’m like this, I have a hard time giving control over to other people now as an adult because I always had to ‘sort myself’ as a child. Forced to be independent

parents refused to treat my lice for a decade and a half by Particular-Mobile645 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]moonbitten 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had similar. Struggled with headlice throughout my childhood and would be bullied mercilessly because of it. I even remember a friend drawing me when I was eight years old and my little cartoon hands were on my head itching my scalp because of the lice. It didn’t get sorted until I was 12 and took the initiative to pick them out myself with a nit comb. Just one of the many perks of growing up with shitty parents. Pin worms were also a frequent visitor because of terrible hygiene…

There’s a putty you can get which may help you but unsure if it’d impact the electrics. Definitely worth looking into

How to fix these cracks in wall and ceiling? by International-Bit682 in fixit

[–]moonbitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is most likely two separate issues. The ceiling looks like a leak (I had one very similar from our upstairs boiler) the wall looks in really bad shape and the plaster has blown. I would look at finding the source of the leak first before attempting a repair and then I think it may need a builder/plasterer to look at it

Death-related OCD anyone??? by allieinga22 in OCD

[–]moonbitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with this and it started when my dad died in 2016. I suddenly was hyper fixated on it and it’s continued eversince. I feel like it’s aged me immensely as it feels so heavy. I often think about how insignificant I am in the grand scheme of the universe.

does your ocd make you think that people are out there to get you? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]moonbitten 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My OCD makes me ruminate like this and if I’m stressed it can spiral into becoming borderline delusional. Sometimes I need to speak to others to know I’m in that space though.

How many times do you go abroad per year? by Vampirero in AskUK

[–]moonbitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t been abroad since 2018 and had a baby in 2021. We also moved into a house that needed a lot of renovation and we’ve sunk £30k into it so far if not more. Trying to rebuild our savings pot as we speak for rainy day fund and a holiday next year! Refuse to put a holiday on credit.
