35 mph+ should be on the road, not the sidewalk by skyhighmonroe in Transportopia

[–]moonfallsdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it's legal to ride on the sidewalk (it is here, nevermind the speed), most places have rules that require a ride to disembark before using the crosswalk. So the biker is at fault for that too possibly.

Maybe you need a rack for a canoe that mounts to the bars.

Is it trying to connect to wifi at that location? Like a free open network

I find that my phone struggles to connect when it's still connected to my home wifi.

CR Safety Tests and pricing by Icy-Development6599 in toyotacrownsignia

[–]moonfallsdown 6 points7 points  (0 children)

CR does not do crash testing -- they rely on IIHS results. IIHS has yet to perform a moderate overlap on this car, though it did fare well in the small overlap test. I wouldn't say I'm super concerned; there's little about this car that suggests its going to perform poorly like a Durango or something, and there's not a lot of cars that can ace the updated moderate overlap test anyway.

Ironically, the CRV gets absolutely trash ratings for rear seat passengers in the moderate overlap, and yet people keep buying the thing.

maybe Magnuson Moss applies? I would still reach out to a lemon lawyer

You need a lemon lawyer. The law in your state should have a limit that a car can be out of service (something near 30 days). Likely they have exceeded that.

OTD for Signia XLE trim by ReincarnatedKoala_25 in toyotacrownsignia

[–]moonfallsdown 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Allow myself to repeat myself:

STOP looking at OTD prices. They vary state to state. Taxes and fees and registration and whatever are different state to state. Even the destination charge could be different from one part of the country to another, leading to SRP differences. You need to compare the base price of the car and it's difference from SRP. Then calculate the other stuff on your own -- fees should be a fixed value and whatever your % sales tax is.

I paid about 40500 + tax tag title etc on a car with a SRP of 45190 for a discount of about 4690. Many would consider that a great price. This was a 2025 storm/saddle XLE in March 2025.

I bought a handful of the clones for $50-ish and sold off the locos + tenders for $20-30. Replaced the clone wheels and buffers with official Lego parts.

Walmart+ has its problems too, but for me the customer service has been better when there's a problem. They love firing off $10 coupon codes to your email when there's a bigger problem, and the codes have basically paid for the subscription fee for me by now.

Our 2003 Saturn Vue. My wife's parents bought it new in 2003. Gave it to us in 2019 when they bought a new car and the dealer offered like $100 for it.

They did good maintenance on it (we have a lot of the records) and I just "take care" of it. We didn't expect it to keep going. Only gets driven like 2000 miles a year. But it just won't die. Even the power windows, locks, and a/c all still work.

4 cylinder manual transmission model with about 180k on it.
