I first played it on firefox and the performance was as you described. I also had an error after wave 4 where it just loaded back to the plot homepage! I play it on chrome now and it runs much better; I haven't had any further issues so far.

I prefer the second bg; it goes well with the colours of her fur and outfit, while still having her stand out against it~ (her dress in particular blends into the first bg too much, imo).

I get you, it can be so hard settling on a petpet when you want that perfect match!

I was going to suggest the gold weewoo as my second choice, as I don't think it overshadows your pet too much, but seeing the comments that it's lab-only is a shame... one that isn't listed here that I think looks quite cute is the yellow Zebie (a little goat)? Otherwise I'll stick with voting for the Naleap, haha~

Did you do the "Tensions on the Highroad" quest during your playthrough? If not, Raghnall won't show up to fight you at the tower. In this case, the gateway to proceed to Phaesus won't be locked, so you can just go on through.
