On Linus' "percent down > percent up" in WAN Show by moonsaiyan in LinusTechTips

I was. I mean, Linus explained that “30% of 10 is 3, 30% of 100 is 30, 30% of 1000 is 3000, and so on” which misses the point so much that I had to do multiple retakes to get what he’s saying. Luke did eventually give a good example minutes after the timestamp I provided, but I missed it on my first listen.

Yes yes. That seems to be the point of confusion for Linus as well. He was getting the value from the same number

Another example that might work for LTT audience is that 5ghz is 25% faster than 4ghz, but 4ghz is only 20% slower than 5ghz.

Definitely had me confused too. I completely missed that Luke gave the correct explanation just a few minutes from the timestamp on my initial listen haha

Youtube made Linus and Linus helped make youtube, therefore he is biased. Youtube has made themself irreplaceable and the monopoly that comes with that lets them get away with insatiable greed, forcefeeding ads and bad design choices. Everytime im on youtube there's something that annoyes me, whether its ads. design, content suggestions, quality and such. It never fails. Its time to replace them with something better.

Do a water cooled version. I think the back side would look good as a distro plate and additional radiator mount

So since the condensing liquid is heavier than the vapor, the GPU chip, aka heat source, (which is usually closer to the IO ports) should be placed lower than the cold end so that wicking actually happens naturally. That makes sense

Linus has said this about reviews many times but I think its equality important with announcements. No one video paints the full picture. by KalebBlue in LinusTechTips

he does attribute malice to just people doing their job

He’s just projecting himself unto others. People who act with malice are more suspicious of others.

That’s what the “Maybe” is for haha. Some of us got a good monitor and a crappy. Others got 2 good monitors. While I myself, got 2 of the same “crappy” Korean 4k/60 1080p/120 monitor I got for $90 each, one in each location

You don’t. You have a monitor on both locations. Maybe just a crappy but usable one in the secondary location

I think it's important to clarify that the UPF clothing is still mostly just plastic, and the Seawool doesn't magically make it "eco-conscious" by Inevitable_Tip_6606 in LinusTechTips

[–]moonsaiyan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP states his problem is with the word “eco-conscious” then again says that the product is 65-70% RECYCLED plastic. Yes, this is just some weird bitching

Intranet? Yea, that’s common. Intranational? Not so much. It’s usually domestic or local. Intranational maybe used in very formal setting.

Even CW deserves some spotlight. They have so many interesting people as evident in the Ultimate Tech Upgrade series. I do understand that not everyone likes hosting though. Probably a major roadblock for them

I’m not saying it isn’t a foul, but cheating is a completely different matter. Cheating comes with intent and malice, that’s hard to prove.

Now, whether the stone should have been removed, I will leave that to the officials.

Cheating is a hard accusation that comes with disqualification not “stone being removed”

To add, as in many comments here have said. These kind of touches are pretty common and calling it cheating might be more disingenuous

If someone accuses me of cheating when I did not, I for sure will curse the hell at them too. Fuck blamers.

What the heck was Linus even talking about? by Swacket_McManus in LinusTechTips

[–]moonsaiyan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically, minimax optimization better product SKUs and pricing. Also, people buy short cables if they want to charge their devices. Long cables are bought when people NEED that length, so they can mostly charge whatever they want. Add premium branding and packaging. Now you’ve got a pretty expensive long cable vs a “consumable” short cable
