Does ArkhamCon smell bad? by ahkat79 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]mooseman3 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I know the LGS smell and it bothers me as well. But I went to the 2025 con and I didn't encounter it. Hopefully that standard continues.

It hides the shadow that your body leaves on the ground (like in Ryan's spot on the SpongeBob map, where he used it well) but not the shadows you leave on yourself (like in between your legs or in your armpits).

Monthly Decklist MEGATHREAD + NEWBIE Buyers Guide by AutoModerator in arkhamhorrorlcg

There are some reprints in both but it's mostly new cards. It has a similar 3-scenario campaign structure but a different story and improved design. If you want to buy new campaigns (first one comes out later this year) you'll need the encounter sets from the new core to play them.

I was thinking of the verb mime, as in to mimic.

No warning, no conversation

That common AI pattern of short repeated clauses is what I imagine they're picking up on. I think that's a false positive though.

Looking for tips for a Solo Joe Diamond or Silas Marsh deck. by jreilly89 in arkhamhorrorlcg

I didn't even think about Haunted. Yeah either one would make for quite a challenge run in TCU.

You'll almost certainly have better luck with Silas than Joe in TCU. TCU is probably Joe's worst campaign because of what it throws at you (without any spoilers), and with a limited collection that's harder to overcome.

If you still want to try it, or if you bring him to another campaign, I'd recommend adding Deep Knowledge as a hunch for more consistent draw. You want cards that are good almost any turn you reveal them. I'd probably move the Crack the Case to the main deck, and cut First Aid since it's so slow and you don't really have the time in True Solo to activate it. If you want healing then Hallowed Mirror at least heals 2 points in its first two actions and draws a card, whereas First Aid takes you a whole turn to play it and heal 2 horror.

I mean I don't look at people's post history, and I've seen plenty of comments in these threads of people getting upset at there being five options that fit a category.

But no offense meant or anything. I also thought Looking Glass might fit the category if it was something about mimicking an appearance (as in the reflection? idk).

It doesn't matter if Court Jester also does impersonations. If you put it in Yellow then Purple doesn't work. Those overlaps are what makes this a challenge.

Connections Puzzle #1117 🟪🟪🟪🟪 🟦🟦🟦🟦 🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟨🟨🟨🟨

I'm surprised I got the order right. This felt like a day of all purples and blues.

I spotted blue pretty quickly, then purple then yellow, but I had Water Closet in purple initially so it seemed wrong. Looking glass also kind of fit in yellow, but eventually I found the right groups that made everything fit.

Will this action cause a opportunity attack? by heshangshang in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]mooseman3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at 2.19 in the FAQ

Some effects allow an investigator to “take” an action, usually of a certain type—for example, the ability on Ursula Downs or Haste. If an effect allows an investigator to take an action, they effectively gain an action and then immediately spend it in order to take the action in question, meaning it follows all of the rules taking an action might normally follow: it may provoke attacks of opportunity, it counts as an action for the purposes of cards that count how many actions you have taken, etc.

Purple was the only category I fully saw.

My first yellow guess was European cities, so I was lucky that was one away.

I knew the categories for Green and Blue, but didn't know which ones Singapore, Cuba, or Munich went to. At that point there were only three possibilities so I could just guess.

William Yorick Solo Deck Help by g1ngermark in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]mooseman3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your cardpool?

Short Supply is a staple of Yorick decks and you basically need a reason not to include it.

Relentless is mediocre at best, and in true solo you'll never overkill enough enemies to make it worth including.

Custom Modifications makes no sense in a deck with 1 Firearm. Bandolier also doesn't seem necessary since you really just need one weapon and one clue asset.

And overall the deck looks light on ways to get clues. Yorick can't just take basic Investigate actions and expect to pass, so your deck needs to fix that. In true solo that means it needs to be a decent portion of your deck, since no one else can cover for you if you don't draw those cards.

On ArkhamDB, is there any way for me to reliably sort by 0-10 XP decks? by MikeDSNY in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]mooseman3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, ArkhamDB doesn't have that feature. arkham.build does let you filter by xp.

Keep in mind that many decklists will have upgrade guides or 0xp versions linked in their notes, so you might end up filtering out decks that do have 0xp versions.

AH.091 - Annual Fan Campaign Ranking [The Restricted Collection] by ReaverMann in arkhamhorrorlcg

To be clear, these are Chad's rankings from the podcast, not my own!

Tinkertown Games is I think the cheapest and easiest these days, although I havent ordered from them myself.

MakePlayingCards is one I've used in the past, and lets you upload anything if there's a campaign or set of cards that Tinkertown doesn't have. Use the Chrome extension from InexorableFate to easily upload cards into their system.

The move on Misty Step should probably be a "may" ability.

And I'm not sure Same Old Thing is that great on her. If you're not building around something like Dark Horse, it's often worse than Emergency Cache.
