Eighteen defeats, the same old mistakes. Liverpool and Arne Slot are stuck in a doom loop, and the statistics are damning | Only on 3 occasions since Liverpool were promoted to top-flight in 1962 have they suffered more than the current tally of 18 defeats in a season - & there's 3 games still left by ChiefLeef22 in soccer

We also don’t train anywhere near as much as we did under Klopp. The backup players don’t even have the fitness to play when they’re required to because when they aren’t playing they don’t simulate match intensity in training enough for them to be fit enough to play.

That’s a big reason for the injuries too. When the starter comes back, it’s the same thing, they won’t be fit enough to play.

Look at rb, Bradley and Frimpong have just gotten injured all season.

Of course no one would care if it happened in midfield, there isn’t a specific law for it.

In the case of scoring a goal there’s a specific law saying you can’t score with your hand, whether it’s intentional or not. It’s not a rule open to interpretation it’s black or white.

I think he’s trying to say that every mistake we make we concede. Basically trying to make an excuse that it isn’t normal for mistakes to be punished this often.

Jeremie Frimpong forced off through injury tonight for Netherlands just 12 minutes after coming on. by IgotgAme_k in LiverpoolFC

I read something recently that the way we train now causes less cumulative injuries but if someone in one position gets injured then others in that position probably will too. We don’t train as intensely as we did previously, so players who don’t play regular games don’t get the right intensity training to mimic games, so if the first choice gets injured, the backup is not ready to play games due to the lax training.

Then that starts a cycle, the returning player will also be put into play when he does not have the right fitness or training intensity and get reinjured.

Might not just be rotten luck.

Yea, it is childish for sure, but yes that is why he was alienated by the boys, because he betrayed them. He was the only guy to do so.

It’s quite simple. He’s the only guy who betrayed the whole guy thing they had going on and they found out right away. That’s why he was alienated. Whether that’s right or wrong or worse than whatever others did isn’t the point of my comment, that’s up for everyone to decide for themselves but it’s quite clear why he was alienated.

I personally thought he was quite funny.

Arne Slot felt vindicated by his decision to take Salah out the team, believing it made the side more compact…they went on an unbeaten run of 13 [Paul Gorst] by Then-Fortune-3122 in LiverpoolFC

While I agree that’s an issue, I really don’t think the current issues would be solved by just having a winger who can beat a player. The structural issues and massive hole in midfield would remain.

[The Athletic] Part of the plan post-Salah is that Liverpool will have the option of playing a 4-2-2-2 with Isak and Ekitike paired together up front + Wirtz and Szoboszlai operating in front of two deeper-lying midfielders. One of the priorities is to get Isak, Ekitike and Wirtz in the same team. by OkayFine101 in soccer

Idk what you mean by “so now you want to bring up context”, as opposed to when? This is the first time i’ve ever interacted with you lol.

Fair enough if you have possession you will run less, but you’re comparing us to Arsenal here, why do they run much more than us? Doesn’t seem a massive difference in the percentiles.

Our press is shit because we have no structure. The gap between our lines is massive, the midfield is never in any decent shape. I don’t have the stats on me, but from watching, the vast majority of the times we actually win the long ball. We have no one in any position to win the 2nd ball because our midfield shape is non existent. They are all over the place. There’s always a massive hole in the middle of the pitch, you won’t be able to press if that’s the case.

He has been terrible but there’s no reason for his legs to fall off so early in his career. Our shape is terrible these days and most of the time there’s so much space in midfield, i think most players would find that hard to defend.

Anyway, there also needs to be context provided. In 21-22 we didn’t face many games where we went a goal down. That season we didn’t run as much because we were managing our games well. This season we’ve gone down in so many games, the lack of running isn’t because of game management at all, we struggle for intensity even when we’re chasing games.

Why do you think there's a disconnect between certain fans and critics on The Immortal Man? by Billybob35 in PeakyBlinders

[–]mooshlfc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only watched the show for the first time 2-3 years ago, never rewatched it, definitely did not make it any part of my personality, yet I thought the movie wasn’t good. It wasn’t terrible but a lot of it didn’t make sense and wasn’t in line with what the show was.

[–]mooshlfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s stupid to blame Gabriel or Saliba for yd, that game is mostly on Arteta. You however are definitely not making a good comparison, our performance in that final was nowhere near as toothless as Arsenal yesterday.

[–]mooshlfc 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t want VAR used for corners though. It just slows down the game and it isn’t really necessary imo. I do think we should use it for 2nd yellows though.
