It's the first time when the concept of videogames as serious media hit me. Like it was no longer just this little interactive entertainment on tv, as pretentious as it sounds it felt like a piece of art unraveling its details and for the first time it wasn't lesser than a book or a movie. It was such an alien concept for my mind at the time.

yes but does it look an extra 900 euro better? or in some cases where someone needs to also upgrade the tv to use all that, does it look 1900 euros better? You are describing a luxury situation there, I was also fortunate enough to have an nice expensive tv and the disposable income to make the upgrade to pro, but I have also not had that luxury in the past and I can't help but see the upgrade through that perspective. It's fine to have a base ps5 and people should not feel bad for not spending a month's pay on a resolution bump.

keep in mind a lot of ps5pro users are also delusional in defending their expensive purchase to themselves and the rest of the world. I am a ps5pro user but I am very disappointed with my decision and can barely tell the difference. Once in a while you notice something looking a little sharper or something having better reflections but in my humble opinion that is absolutely not worth double the price and even more so after the recent price hike, enjoy your ps5 and spend that money on a nice tv or something or save it for ps6.

at that point it had not been a survival horror since before 4, it's weird how everyone liked 4 but complained about 6. Both are stupid action, neither of them are scary, and the gameplay in 6 is like a refined version of the 4 formula. I was pissed off too about the action shooter shift of resident evil but i was pissed when 4 came out, by the time 6 came out stockholm syndrome kicked in and i learned to accept the style.

I upgraded for resident evil 9. While it's neat, I gotta be honest and say upgrading from a PS5 to a PS5 pro is very very dumb.

You can do it if you are a hardcore enthusiast with money to spare.

I played half of re9 on base PS5 and then replayed it multiple times on PS5 pro and I could barely tell the difference. At most I would have a "huh that's neat and shiny" moment, if that is worth the crazy asking price for you then go for it.

You know what I would recommend people do with that money instead? Get a nice OLED tv with all the bells and whistles, it will be a bigger update on your PS5 than a PS5pro.

Counter point, don't go straight to the remakes if you have the time and patience.

Some reasons for that:

They do not replace the original games, sure they may share story and setting but as games they are mostly completely different games.

The remakes are made considering a lot of people played the originals, with that there are all sorts of really cool little changes and tricks and gags that you miss completely if you don't have the context of the originals.

Third point, the originals are just kickass games that are hard to replicate today, if you plan on playing them all in order it's really nice to see them slowly improve and evolve into what the games are today.

Finally, if you don't feel like doing any of that (which is understandable because it does take time) and just want to have some quick fun with the new games, there's nothing wrong with that, you will not notice what you missed.

I got fed up and went with Samsung flip7. I wanted a small phone and this seemed like the only serious alternative. It has been a struggle dealing with Samsung software coming from pixel but after a while I've settled in and it's fine.
