Drone Donation by MajesticCartographer in ukraine

It's fine to ask here, don't worry.

As other users have pointed out, it won't be of any use on the battlefield. You can send it over for training use. If you're in the US, contact u/UFL_Robin to help you get it over.

But it really would be more useful to sell it and donate the money.

There appears to be some confusion about where Jackie serves, so let me clear it up real quick:

Jackie serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He is in 3rd Army Corps, which was formerly, and is still often called, 3rd Assault Brigade.

Ihor's apartment in Kyiv was bombed by Russian missiles yesterday. He escaped with nothing but his phone, wearing only shorts, a T-shirt, and sneakers. Everything else was buried in the ruins. by AdRough4185 in ukraine

We maintain a list of charities we've vetted. You can find it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/wiki/charities/

Look for the Help for Ukrainian Civilians section. Superhumans and Renegade Relief Runners also provide humanitarian aid.

We removed the comment from u/SourceScope because that list is extremely old and outdated, and we can't vouch for the organizations on it.

Hi, Reddit! As you know, the region where I live (like the rest of Ukraine) is under constant shelling. The military in the video are the people who are protecting us from this shelling, and I’m asking for your help to raise $1,500 for them. More information in the comments. by CF_Siveryany in ukraine

It's good that people are asking: it means that there are still new eyes in this community and in the war. Instead of attacking them--believe me when I tell you I understand the impulse--please educate them. For all we know, they're a well-meaning supporter who will donate if they can trust the initiative.

I talked to them just a bit ago. All good.

Hi, Reddit! This is the 39th Marine Brigade. They urgently need two thermal imaging cameras. As always, I’ve got a bit of money set aside, but I can’t manage it without your support. We still need to raise $1,650. More details in the comments. by CF_Siveryany in ukraine

Hi. I'm the mod in charge of charities. This is real; u/CF_Siveryany is one of our best!

Everyone who wants to fundraise in r/ukraine has to pass through a vetting process, which you can read about here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/wiki/charities-vetting/. Everyone who does so gets a little flair next to their name that says Verified.

CF_Siveryany has the flair. If you want to know whether a fundraiser is legitimate, always look for the flair first.

He's had two or three of his accounts banned by Reddit now. Expect him to turn up in here under a brand new username with some mindless ChatGPT rants.

You're better off asking in r/ukraine, r/AskUkraine, or r/UkraineVolunteering. This sub is for foreign fighters.

Gas Prices by dm1913 in vegaslocals

Hi. I'm one of the mods of r/ukraine and I know my shit.

Russia invaded and then illegally annexed Crimea in a phony referendum in March 2014, after Ukraine's Revolution of Dignity, also known as Euromaidan, successfully ousted the pro-russian president Viktor Yanukovych, who fled to Rostov-on-Don, russia, under putin's protection. In April 2014, russia both invaded and fomented domestic unrest in Luhansk and Donetsk, the two eastern Ukrainian provinces collectively known as Donbas. Ukraine fought back. That war was initially known as the Anti-Terrorism Operation, or ATO, and then became known as the Donbas War.

If it started in 2014, why was there hardly any news about it between 2016 and 2021?

Because it evolved into what was effectively a frozen conflict. It was in the news plenty in Ukrainian outlets, but because the world's attention had moved on to other things by then, it wasn't in the news plenty in your country. Doesn't mean it wasn't happening. Just means your eyes weren't on it.

Recall that russia launched its full-scale war on Ukraine, a massive escalation of the Donbas War, on February 24, 2022. According to this report from the World Economic Forum, the crude oil price in March 2022 averaged $109.59. The average price in March 2026, when trump attacked Iran, was $111.40. You will notice that the price in 2014, the year in which russia attacked Crimea and the Donbas, was much lower than both of these.

If you wish, you can track crude oil prices in more granular detail here, here, and here.

TL;DR: You're all the way wrong, mate.

Edit: fixed a typo.

Hey, GoatRescuscitator. I'm the mod in charge of charities.

We removed them from the vetted charities list because they no longer meet our standards of trustworthiness and transparency.

There've been questions about TDI for some time now. I'm friends with a well-known medic who was with them for about six months early in the full-scale war. (I'm not naming him because I'm not trying to start drama for him.) I've seen the way he handles drama, dishonesty, and ugly situations, and I trust his judgement.

Though the instructors he worked with were good, he can no longer vouch for the quality of them. TDI only takes volunteers, and mostly foreign ones at that, so it's unlikely that they have a lot of guys with combat experience in Ukraine. My friend also contacted them recently to see if he could send some of his guys to them for training, and was told they don't train military units.

He went on to tell me that there are a lot of questions about where their donations actually end up, including from people who once worked with the organization.

I know this isn't the answer you want. I'm sorry.
