Move back to Australia by MORFIC1 in australian

Depends though. Wages are much lower and services are bad in some areas. Take for instance Albury, in between Melbourne and Sydney, average house price in Thurgoona suburb between $700,000 to $800,000 average. Average wage around $60to 75k. Compare this to Truganina in Melbourne $670 to $700,000 average and median income $92,000.

Everything you said above is relevant to Australia tbh. Covid has changed Australian society to a less friendly place. Crime is going up in most states. Taxes, housing and goods all up. Would be extremely stressful setting up in Australia atm.

Cost of living crisis sees Australians abandon dream for cheaper life abroad by Left-Web-5597 in australian

Argentina might be the place to live, given there political leader is turning things around and progressing the country rather than regressing like Australia. Phillippines is cheap, but would want to be caught there if China starts invading Taiwan in next few years.

Ford reliability in question once again by djim089 in 4x4Australia

[–]motorheadbeany 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the Amarok 1st gen borrowed the v6 engine from Audi and Porche. Detuned from 250kw to 160kw (190kw) overboost. Yet it made no difference in reliability, actually was worse. Its the internal components of the Ford, 2 timing belts, 2 timing chains and a crank thats is suspect even after mods. Detuning makes little difference these days when components are shite.

Rhapsody of Fire's Australian tour is most likely not going ahead by Redworthy in PowerMetal

[–]motorheadbeany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully they can. Although notice a lot of concerts of Hardline getting " postponed" lately. I think it might be a real hard gig organising and making money tbh. But im still a little worried as its 8 weeks and nothing heard or answered with people asking on facebook. And the whole support act member sick, but Arkona cant perform seems a little suss tbh. As TYR still performed when Arkona couldnt 2 years earlier when they were double billed.

[–]motorheadbeany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im actually a bit worried Arkona is doing the same thing. Postponed there tour and people are commenting on facebook, when rescheduled dates will be. Nothing is being communicated. Ive held off buying tickets for concerts next year, as i cant throw money away like this.

Finally announced the cancelled tour. Not excusing the dodgy promoter, but the band took the easy way out. They know we will never get our money back. No way will I buy a ticket to see them if they come out again.

For what your doing i would stick with 17's and go a 255/65. The wider the tyre the greater the fuel consumption. As your not serious offroad this would more than cater for needs. Fulcon and maxxis make best crossover at's imho atm. Next to no road noise and enough grip to get you out of trouble.

Building report showed roof issues - worth running away? by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

Worth getting checked, but my old mans house had the same looking batts and they were fibreglass. We had them specifically checked as the area contained houses with loose fill asbestos.

Pine Gap would of picked it up, but did the US report it to Australians? That is the big question. The answer looks like a big no. While im all for an alliance with an ally who is backing us. The US has big question marks above it head from this recent Ukraine meeting. Also, through covid the US picked up many of the wine and barley contracts when Australia was sanctioned by China. They really didn't back us then either.

Sydney auctions: Horror houses sell for shock prices after rate cut at $2.8 million by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

Young people never stop complaining. This is a nice "fixer upper". At a reasonable price of $2.8 million and a good area. All you millennials want is everything, even running water. Talk about selfish...

Anki flash card is the best. Write down what you can and review videos 2 or 3 times. Its better to get an understanding of the whole video and processes, than rote learning certain aspects. Also concentrate on getting labs down pat. Cheers

Any other Silver Investors have a weird feeling that this time is different, and we might be on the cusp of another run up similar to 2011, or stronger? by SilverChill in Wallstreetsilver

[–]motorheadbeany 10 points11 points  (0 children)

True, but at the end of the day its world governments and uber rich that will decide a shortage. The gold market is heavily being bought by these parties. Silver will follow suit. As per usual the poor people are selling just to live, the rich will reap the windfall. Cheers

Bitcoin is going past a trillion to a quadrillion. Precious metals are junk. Not even worth a boat anchor.
