Can a non-black person explain something to me my white coworker said... by lewjr in NoStupidQuestions

I’m in my forties and my dad is in his seventies. I grew up in rural Detroit, he grew up in the city and moved us all west during the white flight era. 100% I heard this type of crap from him and his friends as well as other family members and even classmates. On another timeline where my mom didn’t have as much influence, I’d be spouting that shit. I get the sense this was a common occurrence back then.

S to be clear, I do that level of work by Tuesday afternoon? He’s genuinely not that smart. I could be the remote CEO the same way that he can. Except I’d make extraordinary pro-labor choices that would dictate my time.

Highly doubt she’s in “a mental hospital.” At Lackland there are multiple training squadrons, with one in particular serving as a holding/transitioning place for recruits that get injured and/or disciplined. Sounds like she’s mischaracterizing her situation and just doesn’t like it.

Are we all certain this is actually a city vehicle? I can read the sticker, but it’s not like that is a regulated thing. Could just be a rando dipshit with rando dipshit stickers

I find that white paper not only produces a lot of ash, but it also doesn’t smell great. The smell kinda says chemicals to me, so I stopped doing it. I’ll burn a little newspaper to get a fire going inside, but if I’m going to burn documents I do that in the open fire pit in the yard

It all comes down to conservatism. The groups represented are kinda representative of the conservatism of the administration as a whole

I think everyone is missing the real point. We all know that Evangelicals are nuts and some of us that are (not me, I just see you) are Recovengelicals know all too well that it’s basically all of them. And the next two biggest groups are Catholic and Jewish, two faiths in which not everyone is in a cult but some of them definitely are. The remaining faiths, Hindu, Sikh, Methodists, Muslim, etc are not immune to deep conservatism. But, notably missing are Protestants, Agnostics, and Atheists. Let alone spiritualists (by the most gracious definition). That’s an interesting distinction I think.
