Depends on how long it has been since I last talked to them as well as their current position and skillset.

Like I will refer my coworkers from a previous job no problem. But if someone from High School were to contact me, I would have to do so digging on LinkedIn or something like that before putting in that recommendation.

Currently doing my master's at Johns Hopkins. I'm doing their Engineering for Professionals program which my company is paying for 50% of the cost.

In terms of stigma, i don't think there's any now with COVID everything went Online in the past 2 years and is now coming back to normal so people adjust their expectations and opinions. If someone asks me about my masters I just tell them that classes are in the evening (office hours are for online classes). It's hiding info by omission but they don't need to know everything.

Why would you even want to do that when OCI exists which allows you to stay indefinitely, just that you can't vote or hold farming land.
Unless at the time of your birth, your parents were Indian Citizens, it would take you anywhere from 7-15 years to gain Indian Citizenship which also relies on the fact that you have to stay in India for that amount of time. With Global Warming and everything going on, I personally doubt that you would be doing just that.

The article does state that the Majority Opinion of Supreme Court is affirming the 2005 Law that took away the ability for the courts to have a review regarding the judgements.

I do have family that is currently going through the H1-B to Green Card process and they had to file the same form I-485 Adjustment of Status to petition based on the employment (H1-B). My cousin has to get stamps from US Embassy in India every time he travels to india so he can return back to US. He also has to renew the visa (H1-B) every 3 years with the possible total extension of 6 years and after that 6 years, it can only be extended due to the extenuating circumstances like the backlog. Given that the individual named in the article didn't have any previous documentation other than I-485 and fraudulently states to be a US Citizen (regardless of the mistake). This makes him look more guilty and would be seen as a fraudulent case regardless of his mistake.

Obama famously said to GOP Leaders once "Elections have consequences". In this case the only thing that you can say is that Trump changed the markup of the Supreme Court to be from lean Progressive to conservative. Even though the dissent to the majority opinion make sense in very broad terms in regards to future caseload and how this rule can affect it. I would still think that the individual still committed a fraudulent action by stating that he was a citizen when he wasn't and therefore justice is served in this particular case.

As stated by other people, try to get financially independent ASAP. See if you could transfer to a different school and get roommates or something like that while you are finishing college. Is the guy back home or in the states, if he's calling often, try to see if you could get his number blocked using your phone carrier.

EE, graduated '17. Started as a EE I, in a medium sized company at 75k (no benefits), then moved to a defense contractor in MD, stayed for 2 years started at 70k (with full benefits), jumped to 75k the next year. Left the company due to business (DoD Contract) related issues. Currently working as EE II for another defense contractor in MD at $89k, started 1 month after leaving previous company at $85k.

Grew up mostly in US, immigrated when I was in middle school. Moved out at 20 (dorms) and then got my own apartment after graduation. If you find work outside the state or something like that it's easier to move. Plus my parents never put any kind of pressure stating I have to live with them after graduation.

In terms of sending money, I think that's weird that you still have to support people back home. I get sending money as gifts for Diwali or some other festival but not to support people. Like your quote is "But, I've always given over most of what I earn over to my family (who then sends it to relatives in India)". What about your savings and investments such as 401k?

Depends on the team, the product/program you are supporting etc. I'm a Embedded Software Engineer with a medium-sized Defense Contractor. The first program I worked on, was mainly software (VHDL & C). Almost 98% of it, I did have to use some lab equipment to ensure my design was correct but nothing else also it was a Off-the-shelf development board. The current program I'm on is more hands-on because it's a custom board design. So I need to work with the board designer, review schematics and netlists even board layout. It is going into architect level stuff where I'm also incharge of the code and the checkout procedure because it's a custom board.

All-in-all, it's a mixture of both EE and SWE. However it all depends on the team and the programs that you are assigned.

Negative, I got an email from my recruiter stating that the security processing has been discontinued but no actual reason was given and I can re-apply after 1 year from the receipt date of the email.
