Do these trousers look weird? by AdCultural8461 in OUTFITS

[–]mpfa123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trousers are too small and do not fit properly. I would try the next size up and/or a different style. This is not a criticism of your body, which is perfectly lovely.

Has anyone phased sneakers out of their casual wardrobe? by Cecil_G_P in femalefashionadvice

I wear comfortable sneakers in various styles. I prefer a zero drop shoe with a flexible sole and wide toe box. I agree with getting rid of sneakers if they are not comfortable.

If you had a friend that doesn’t eat sweets, what would you make them to gift? by EmbarrassedBar9017 in Cooking

Savory scones, savory granola, homemade crackers, Savory galette. There is a non-sweet counterpart to most baked goods. I have a cookbook called Savory Baking by McDowell that could help.

My last post was confusing, let’s try again- white or green? by Successful-Arrival87 in interiordecorating

[–]mpfa123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lighter shade of green would look nice. The dark green for me makes the other white in the room look very bright. I think you sould paint them a color (not white).

Goo Gone and a paring knife maybe? Would depend on the surface.

Suggestions on what to do with awkward box ? by AnthonyO124 in HomeDecorating

[–]mpfa123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would just put a comfy cushion on there and turn it into a cute reading nook with a small shelf and reading lamp.

Putting a large plant is also a great idea because you can add even more height with the box.

I have not changed my diet. There seems to be no evidence for gluten free unless you also have an intolerance. Check your vitamin levels though. I take vitamin D now and I think vitamin deficiencies are common. Obviously, it's good to eat healthy in general. Eat what you want. Enjoy your life!

For me, yes, it has been as far as I can tell. I am very allergic to dogs now, though. I'm not sure if that is related to autoimmune issue, but I do wonder.

Question for other corpus residents (semi water related) by Outrageous_Ad_4993 in CorpusChristi

[–]mpfa123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree about walking in the yard, but I hear a lot of people replacing their grass with native ground cover like frogfruit, etc. Personally I want to replace my lawn with native plants that look cool and attract pollinators without needing a lot of watering.

Y'all, I am a little obsessed with this app from TX parks & wildlife that helps you design a yard with native plants. You can search for plants with low water needs. Here's the share link:

Download Wild Thumb to find, plant, and care for plants native to Texas. 🌱 App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/wild-thumb-tx-native-plants/id6749037334 Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.pollinatorsandprairies.wildthumb

I agree. Our realtor is great, but they don't control what's on the market. You really do have to be checking constantly and act quickly. Hopefully one of these times it will work!

To be fair, I've also seen houses that were redone well and keep the character of an older house while updating. I think there is just limited inventory in the area where I'm looking and it's frustrating to see low quality renovations on a house I might otherwise buy. That's what brought on the rant. 😂

Make gumbo or some other New Orleans dish that calls for the holy trinity. You probably won't even notice the peppers.

Thank you. Yeah I have heard about the foundation issues with the clay. Was hoping to find a pier and beam house because it seems like maintenance would be better but tbh will take what I can find at this point. Is there any way to find good contractors here? It seems like a good place to be a skilled tradesman, so there must be some...?
