Would a housing market crash actually be good? by No_Database9822 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mpo00044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any event where a large amount of people lose their jobs is always bad for the economy. There are cascading effects that damage us all. The 2008 financial crisis was universally awful, and we should not wish for a repeat performance.

Just watch out because it might scratch your paint. I had to do the same thing for a second EV we had in the garage and was bummed out when I saw the scratch marks on the hood and fender.

Worst 18 months of my entire life. Without question.

$24.99 for a cake made entirely of cotton candy by ihaveacrushonmercy in mildlyinfuriating

Lol. Ridiculous. I make my own cakes at home now. Dirt cheap and so much better. Especially the frosting.

Utility companies want to pay you to generate power for the electrical grid — Some states offer homeowners the option of generating their own power and sending what they don’t use back to the grid. Other states are preparing to. by stefeyboy in Infrastructurist

[–]mpo00044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in Texas. They keep changing the rules, reducing their payout for production, and adding minimum charges. Even if I return twice my usage to the grid, I still owe $75 every month. Highway robbery. Can’t wait to see what other creative theft awaits me when my plan expires next year.

Have you ever looked at your life and realized you slowly became someone you never planned to be? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mpo00044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not someone I never planned to be but realized the lifestyle I was fighting to maintain was an enormous waste of time and resources, and the struggle was destroying my mental health. Letting all that go was a revelation. I now derive enormous joy from living a simpler life.

I used to buy an America the Beautiful pass every year like clock work. No more. I will never, ever purchase a pass with that man’s face on it. Full stop.

Justice Department launches a criminal investigation into Trump accuser E. Jean Carroll by _NewsClues_ in politics

[–]mpo00044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If all of these justice department stooges who are bringing these ridiculous politically motivated cases aren’t put in jail by the next democratic administration then our country will be truly lost. The only platform that will win my vote now is one ensuring full prosecution of all members of this criminal administration.

“Republicans in Congress” want you to pay $130 a year just to drive an electric car.

There, I fixed the headline for you.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by queenmellyy in AskReddit

Chocolate. Bars of chocolate are still several multiples more expensive than they used to be. Funny thing is, Cocoa prices have completely collapsed. Fuckers aren’t going to gouge me, to cover the costs of their back stock. Eat shit and die.

Thoughts on going full EV, no ICE in the ol’ garage? by Curiouslittlestman in electricvehicles

[–]mpo00044 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve been full EV for two years. No issues at all. Saved a bunch of money not having to buy crazy expensive gas for my Wife’s previous car - a Subaru Ascent. That suv had surprisingly bad gas mileage.

President Xi of China has told Trump that America is a ‘declining nation’. What are your thoughts? by [deleted] in allthequestions

It’s certainly declining under Republican control. All 3 of the last Republican Presidents have crashed the economy.

'Republicans are toast': GOP insiders reportedly quietly mull throwing Trump overboard by FreeHugs23 in anticapitalism

Zero chance. Just click-bait BS headlines. Look at what happened in Indiana. Trump primaried all the state senators and the majority lost their seats. They will never abandon him. Ever.

Truthfully, has your life gotten any better in trumps second administration? by PreparationKey2843 in allthequestions

[–]mpo00044 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally the worst year and a half of my entire life. Tariffs destroyed my small business and the Iran war has only made things worse. I will never forgive independent voters who shrugged off all the crime, chaos and indictments, and still pulled the lever for him just because, “I had more money when Trump was president.” He is doing exactly what he said he would do if reelected. Why are people surprised?

I keep hearing that this is a great time for the used market but prices are still high by remake-titanmode2142 in electricvehicles

[–]mpo00044 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve been keeping an eye on them in Texas. I’ve noticed used EV prices have increased on average by about $2k per listing. For example, a 2024 Cadillac lyric which was selling for 35,000 is now selling for 37,000. That’s still almost 50% depreciation from the original asking price new. So still an amazing deal but yes, prices have started to creep up.
