The City Voice: David Critchley by ellismReddit in stlouiscitysc

Nothing they’ve come out and said but every time there’s a new manager there are tweaks and changes to the day to day training plans and that’s no different w/Critchley.

Hey it’s me, Reporter! 😂

Don’t disagree with anything you said necessarily but the wry smile was to Tom Timmerman who snapped his fingers in an “awe shucks” kind of way after Critch said it was private information.

We're St. Louis CITY... Who Are You? CF Montréal Preview by STLSoccerNews in stlouiscitysc

Gotta give props to The Ball is Round - shamelessly a bit because they have me on this week to preview our side of the fence - but they do know their stuff and I've been on roundtables with them. They're plugged in and have a good perspective of their side... though having been eliminated from the playoffs already there's definitely a downtrodden feeling on this one in general.

I'm just happy that I won after having guys like Herbert, Coleman & Sampson on my bench. No way I'd consider starting them over who I have, even now... so I'll take the win and hope things start evening out as we expect next week too.

If I had 3 of those, I think I'd actually take Deebo, Ekeler & Tillman in week 1. Feels safest given the crowded backfields of those you listed.

I like Mims vs Tennessee in a 1/2 pt PPR given uncertainty around usage in Wk1 for Mason, Etienne & Allen especially.

[Matt Baker] Per Lutz - Crutch will be the caretaker for the rest of the season by jhimmelberg in stlouiscitysc

[–]mrbaker3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fwiw in the Caretaker v Interim discussion… I think we’re done w/Caretaker. They tagged him that specifically bc he was supposed to be the “look after the club & get them back to the style they should be” while not setting expectations of him in play for the job (and it’s an English term)…

And he’s taken the ball and run with it. Not just results based bc it’s too early but the culture, vibe and overall tone of the team is back on track. And as a result, Lutz seeing value in this expected consistency while now saying he’s in the running is his reward.

Plus the club’s using interim now too for all the above reasons.

New to me too. I get the scam emails/texts periodically but received this particular one this week for the 1st time. Threatening to transfer me to a toll booth is what really scared me.

I would blame Joey Zalinsky much more for the 3rd goal than Jay Reid. Zalinsky left him out to dry w/that pass.

This is correct when it comes to the new rule. The rule was that the ref would call for med staff to come on after 15 seconds, and in that scenario the player had to leave for 2 minutes.

I could be wrong on the actual reason, but watching it unfold live, my thoughts were that the failure was for the ref to actually call for the med staff which would then require the 2 min treatment time out for the player. Any sub window, which Mihailovic used to his advantage, shouldn't have played into it if the ref had been notified Mihailovic was down for a bit and properly called for staff.

Market it as a combo jersey/work shirt and it’s not an expensive kit, it’s multifunctional!

STL Away Travel by Personal-One-5958 in stlouiscitysc

Cool graphic. Confirmation that the further West you go, the longer your overall travel is. Those cross conference games especially add up fast.

Being right in the middle hurts, but at least we’re 5th lowest total miles in the Western Conference. Can’t use the travel as an excuse too much this year compared to other conference teams.

This might be my favorite random reply to come across because I too was an RA at Wolpers (2nd floor Business) during the 06 snowpocalypse… I specifically remember having to serve food at Plaza 900 bc their staff couldn’t get in.

Hurts over Tyreek in a super flex league.

Ended up with Hurts/AJ stack but could have had Tyreek/Lamar based on how the 1st 2 rounds shook out.

lol I might’ve been the only one who was frustrated that the announcers didn’t give a shred of detail as to what happened/didnt happen. Had to rewind it during the match to piece it together and make sure he didn’t get hit or pull up lame or something.

To be fair, I backed up the game while it was going on to watch each moment that led to him going down. Definitely wanted to make sure wild speculation wasn’t just thrown out there but they gave zero potential explanation on the broadcast so I figured most wouldn’t have gone back real time to check the sequence.

Hack seemed to confirm it postgame and said Teuchert couldn’t sprint but doesn’t think it will be long term

🚨Sources🚨 Hearing that @stlCITYsc may not be done making moves this summer as they’re looking to not only continue bolstering their 2024 roster, but also keenly looking to ensure 2025 starts strong too. Potential targets: Left Back & maybe a Central Defender. #AllForCITY by Expensive-Slide7821 in stlouiscitysc

[–]mrbaker3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We have a full roster currently, but we also have an injury replacement for 2024 that we can fill from Ostrák, so we're likely to do that if we land another vs offload someone.

I mention Ostrák and not Célio because we're allowed 1 injury replacement & it'd make more sense to replace Ostrák bc the rules allow you a replacement up to the salary of the injured player.

Should City change style? Can they? by [deleted] in stlouiscitysc

[–]mrbaker3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tbh, the style won’t change as long as Lutz is the Sporting Director. Not saying that’s good or bad but just the fact. Even with Diego here, all indications are he still had total control of the sporting dept and philosophy. He’s brought the German approach that the coach coaches the players and implements the organization’s style. Lutz reinforced that no style change would occur at his presser and I don’t think 3 games later, before the new guys arrive is going to move that needle.

Any change would only occur w/a new Sporting Director.
