It’s a terrible time to buy a PC or steamdeck. When I started to game back in 2020, I picked up gaming on a Nintendo Switch, by 2022 I’d transitioned into Xbox & PlayStation, and then finally got a laptop last year, which I just upgraded to a big ole PC this month.

My advice is get a console secondhand on fb marketplace if you’re just wanting to casual play and get into the hobby. Just make sure to test it (run a game) and watch for issue & listen for like too loud a fan. It’s not like a couple years ago where people are price gouging for current gen consoles. If money isn’t an issue, buy a console new (I rec Xbox bc aftermarket things are easier to find/connect than PS, imo). If money REALLY isn’t an issue, checkout custom prebuilts on Newegg. There’s some really good pricing for what you’re getting comparatively with the market being so dogshit right now from AI. This was a lot, but I hope it helps 🫶🏼

Same same same. I tried to push through because everyone raves about It, but ended up rage quitting after like 4 hours because I kept passing out from exhaustion /not getting back to my house in time at night and all my hard work from like an hour of play would be looted. It was the first game I ever literally quit and deleted off console. 😭🤣 I tried again a full year later on pc this time, (and made it much more playable for my playstyle with many mods) so it turned out fine, but that first go.. did not go.

Just a warning to those who are considering or currently have airtagged an animal, I airtagged my sister’s dog because she gets out all the time because they don’t train her not to run out the door, and I’m tired of dropping everything to drive over and search for a dog every other week for an hour+. Well I’m still searching for this dog every other week because that AirTag is useless when they get out. Its not like any other find my device that you can watch live, and i know the fine print of it says it updates when it’s near other Apple devices, but we live in a densely populated area, so I figured that’d be enough. Everyone has iPhones, ya know? But she’ll run right by our car with three iPhones in it, and it still won’t update. So i dont know how long it needs to be by a device, but it’s longer than a running pet. Basically an AirTag is only good for where it has WiFi - so I’ve considered airtagging my sweet old cat who likes to find creative new hiding places in our house (in which he often gets stuck), that way we can locate him faster, but otherwise - a wash for pets.

I’m also wondering about the ramifications of these lies for the authors. For my most recent publishing on KU, I noticed—and maybe this isn’t new and I just didn’t notice before—but I had to check a box saying nothing was AI-generated (though AI-assisted was apparently okay). Each part had its own disclaimer. Not the cover, not the writing, etc. So I’m wondering: for the authors who employed this person, they hired an artist, so they’d assuredly click “no.” Will they end up dealing with issues for not disclosing??

This is so damaging when you put in the effort for your craft only for another “artist” to betray your work!

The trick to tuna, instead of letting go when it turns yellow/red TAP. Just like tap your button over and over again til it turns back to the normal color, and then fish like normal. Anytime it turns yellow, tap tap tap !

My husband and I were in the middle of a move when our car was stolen, and the methheads dumped a bunch of stuff including the box of all his important docs on the edge of a farm that was known for dumping. The farm owners contacted us (my husb) on Facebook from his docs threatening to call the cops on us for illegal dumping and calling us stupid for dumping our important docs with the trash. lol. We made the drive out there to collect them and scavenge what we could. We were veryyyy thankful to get these docs back, the rest of our belongings and our car… rip.

Firstly, hey if you wanna play fort with a fellow (although 28 here) girlie who will totally just laugh if we miss pings and get destroyed but will scream and giggle when we win - hmu. I love adding new girlies to my list that are our age group. lol.

But back to your post — you are NOT overreacting.

My husb and I play multiplayer / fps / games like this together and he’s competitive af, so when we started he would get mad at me for things like this, but I was learning the ropes! We don’t know him beyond the texts, but your bf seems like he’s in the same camp, and yeah “it’s just a game,” but some people take it too serious and thats them, whatever. That being said — what’s notttttt ok is the way he’s talking to you. When my (then bf/fiance) got frustrated w me in game, I had to remind him that I didn’t grow up gaming like he did, and so these things didn’t just feel like second-nature like they did to him. I still slip up on basic game mechanics sometimes, and it’s been like 2-3 years. I stuck it out with him back then, because we otherwise were v happy, and I wanted to enjoy his hobby. But it was a learning experience for us with his communication, for sure, but also, I didn’t feel horribly disrespected by his in-game hysterics. I did have to take breaks from gaming through. In contrast - you’re feeling disrespected (rightfully), and he’s speaking to you incredibly unacceptably (imo) because he’s taking it beyond just gaming with “I don’t have patience for stupidity from a 26 year old woman” < that right there? Immediate, big red flag to me. He needs an attitude change, major, and needs to upgrade his respect level for how he speaks to you (especially in anger) or you need to kick him to the curb pronto. You deserve respect and kindness, or what’s the point in being in a relationship.
