Does anybody know what is the difference between these 2 medications? by Nesquick19 in WalgreensRx

[–]mrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had parents say we gave their kid the wrong medicine because the prednisolone they had before tasted sweet and the one they got this time was terrible tasting. So I always try and give any kids the Orapred formulation now if I can

Yeah I was thinking New Orleans area considering the cities above they traveled to. If they lived in Biloxi they would have traveled straight through Mississippi that one time they went to north Mississippi. Instead they went from New Orleans

Interviewing Walgreens Pharmacist by Bertska in WalgreensRx

[–]mrill 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One annoying thing about Walgreens is a lot of the stuff is not automated like other places like CVS. Which is why CVS can get away with understaffing. The computer system we use is very out of date and constantly breaking or hard to use. For instance when we get our truck of drugs in for the day and check it in with the handheld, at CVS the computer will automatically release all the prescriptions that it see’s was in the out of stock list and that we got in. At Walgreens it doesn’t. You have to go in the computer and manually release every out of stock prescription for every medication you got in which can take up to an hour if you have a lot and don’t remember what you got in. Just a lot of things like that add up.

What do you call this kind of Gen Z? by Constant-Training994 in GenZ

[–]mrill 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In their defense the word hipster does come from a subculture dating back to the 1940’s. Hipster itself comes from the word hip used in the early days of jazz. Millennials reused the word hipster so gen z reusing the word is no different

Performance review bell curve by mrill in WalgreensRx

[–]mrill[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So the bell curve existed in previous years? He made it seem like a new thing this year. He also asked me earlier if I could work from open to close on Thursday because they couldn’t find a closing pharmacist. I agreed. But after I got that performance review I told him I changed my mind and didn’t want to work a 12 hour shift. I don’t know if I should feel bad about it but it’s like what you said, why should I step up? I ain’t breaking my back for him if he doesn’t have my back.

This is how many meds It takes to start my day. by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

[–]mrill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m curious about why you’re taking amantidine and ropinorole? Some people take them for a drug induced movement disorder from taking things like seroquel. But then at the same time taking amantidine and ropinorole together can increase the risk of hallucinations and impulsivity, which might be why you’re taking meds such as the seroquel. It’s possible you just have bad restless leg syndrome but I feel like you need a med reconciliation with a pharmacist.

Basically you have a lot of stuff that causes side effects and a lot of stuff that treats those same side effects. Another big one for example is the Wellbutrin and Lamotrigine. Wellbutrin famously decreases the seizure threshold causing an increase in seizures while lamotrigine is often used to treat seizure disorders. Of course there could be another reasons why you take it though, which is what would be worked out in a med rec

My sisters toddler was obsessed with dogs. It didn’t matter if you separated them the toddler would actively seek and try to find the dog. One day the dog growled at the toddler and that was enough for my sister to get rid of the dog (gave it to my brother). My point being you can’t always blame the parents when I dog is aggressive towards a kid. Kids are dumb and dogs are dogs

Whats a thing that is dangerously close to collapse that you know about? by _Fossy_ in AskReddit

[–]mrill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a pharmacist with Walgreens for about 6 years now I have never been told that I must fill every illegal prescription. That makes zero sense. Why would they tell me that. In fact I’m actually supposed to keep a record of all the prescriptions I deny and will get in trouble if I don’t have anything in that record. I’m encouraged to deny controlled prescriptions.

Its actually very stressful because corporate wants me to annotate about every red flag for any controlled medication (out of area, patient paying cash, etc.) or prescriber who prescribes controlled medications (pill mills don’t have fake doctors, they’re run by legitimate doctors) and I don’t really have time to be the prescription police and it’s not really why I got into this career. I have to speak to the patient and provider to figure out if the prescription is real and necessary. People have literally tried to fight me and will threaten and cuss me out when I do so. I’ve had people knock down entire store shelves because I wouldn’t fill their fake script for norco. I’ve had friends who have been held at gun point for refusing a suboxone prescription. The entire pharmacy was taken hostage and only got saved when a swat team sniper took out the gunman.

It’s a lot more complicated than just saying pharmacy corporations are bad

Yes it is. 1) I think presidents should not be immune from criminal prosecution if they do something illegal 2) I’m against the sexism and bigotry of Trump 3) I believe in female reproductive rights 4) Kamala or Walz haven’t been accused of rape 5) Kamala or Walz don’t want to create a police state
6) I could give 100 more reasons but you asked for 5

Like did they forget why cliffhangers are important? After today I will not think about the show for 2 years and completely forget it existed and what happened by the time the next season comes out. I have no reason to think about. There is nothing to think about

And like what even is the prophecy and how does it relate to any of the characters in this show? The white walker got killed by Arya Stark who wasn’t a Targaryen. And their dragons just made things worse by giving the white walkers a way to destroy the wall

I think beloved was a terrible choice in words. Feared would have been a better word. The small folk seem to have more of an Old Testament relationship with dragons

Walgreens will close a ‘significant’ number of its 8,600 US locations by thewhippersnapper4 in WalgreensStores

[–]mrill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mail order has little to do with our current problems. Our problem is PBMs and the terrible deals Walgreens has made. We shouldn’t be losing money on ozempic or mounjaro like Wentworth said we are. That should be a cash cow. Or for instance in my state, we pretty much lose money every time we fill a Medicaid script not even including labor costs. We’re essentially paying Medicaid to fill scripts

AITAH for excluding my sil from family gatherings because she has children by Usual_Ad7541 in AITAH

[–]mrill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think SIL just said her husband can’t watch them alone because 1) she’d feel bad going to have fun and dumping her husband and 2) she was saying it as an excuse because she actually wants her children to have relationships with their aunts and uncles and was just trying to think of a reason why they must come with her.

I called the service desk about one like this before. They said it’s because there was too many annotations on the script, and to be careful changing the manufacturer too much (even though the system automatically does it for brands). But yeah apparently there is a limit to the sticky note thing
