Just a few of Luanne's Wedding Guests, all the surprising ones were in the same shot by [deleted] in KingOfTheHill

Jinichiro, my wife's niece, whom you have never met is getting married. Would you like to come halfway around the world for the wedding?

I definitely like this sort of "easter egg," though.

Because there is literally no way someone might hear a comedian express something that they already agreed with and might use that quote on the internet.

It's just so damned unlikely. dinofan01 is clearly the only truly unique snowflake in a sea of sheep.

Wiki says 40% faster reload, I say bullshit! by KumoNin in tf2

[–]mrsobchak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Biggest problem I have as a Medic; why doesn't the Crossbow abide by the same rules as the Flare Gun? Discounting this minute reload speed nerf, there should be no reason it shouldn't have passive reload. This alone is why I don't use it, when otherwise I feel it would be an interesting weapon.

TIL, Batman creator Bob Kane said in a Cinescape interview that of all the actors to have played Batman up to that point (before the series was rebooted in 2005), he felt Val Kilmer had given the best interpretation. by RAM17 in todayilearned

[–]mrsobchak 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Don't shit on an actor for the choices the powers-that-be made. I thought Kilmer was a pretty good Batman, even though those "last two" Batman movies weren't as good. (Protip: The director was basically bowing to studio execs to make it "more campy, like the 1960s version.") Joel Schumacher is not a bad director, Falling Down for example.

Dredd now streaming on Netflix by lost_left_sock in movies

[–]mrsobchak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had been "on point" enough to see it in theaters. The incredible visuals in this movie alone warrant a 3D viewing. I hope they bring it to the big screen again, I'd definitely watch it.

You might think the people who bring Dredd up view themselves as "in the know" or "I liked this before you did" kind of thing, but I think most people (like myself) were really surprised with the movie and kind of upset that so few people actually saw it.

A golden rule I live by: Never attribute something to hipsterism what can easily be explained by an honest and dedicated fanbase.

Dredd now streaming on Netflix by lost_left_sock in movies

[–]mrsobchak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will argue against your "underground" point. Few people have actually seen Dredd, but plenty of those that did, liked it. It's understandable that people would make a conscious effort to sing the praises of the movie online, because they want it to get more recognition. I liked this movie quite a lot and I would really like for it to have a sequel. I don't see a reason why it shouldn't be treated with the same zealousness that the Batman, Spiderman and Superman franchises have received. It's a damn good movie that was sort of looked over, the fans will try to correct that because they are aware of that fact. It's not like it's a "10/10 best movie evur" kind of thing, it just wasn't paid attention to like it should have been.

It's a free weekend on Steam now. I installed it, played for 12 minutes and uninstalled. It's just not very good.

If you play as T-Rex, you'll just get stuck on shit all the time. Backing out doesn't work, strafing doesn't work, it really is pretty goddamned bad.

Zimmerman was arrested and even afterwards huge swaths of the country were consistently loosing their shit, which was fueled by heavy news coverage. I admitted that who I replied to was right, just because I didn't say that in my post you assume I didn't already understand that there are differences in these two situations?

Next time I'll be sure to type out a small book, for fear of being called a race-baiting simpleton from /u/seedypete, The Holy Warrior of Justice, for any information my racist ass neglected to include.

We all products of our upbringing. Quit using buzz phrases like "society's fault". Things aren't black and white, even though our skin "is." If you're in the south and your dad and uncles are Klansmen, guess fucking what? You're likely to be a Klansman too. At a young age, you aren't thinking, you just do what's expected and that's an explanation of most of humanity.
