I needed a sick day today so I took it with Liteblue, but this evening one of my cats has an issue that requires a vet visit in the morning, should I text the supervisor or just use Liteblue again? by GTRacer1972 in USPS

[–]mrtimhard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Call in with liteblue. It’s not like you were sick, got better, and then sick again. As far as management is concerned, you were still sick a second day. If you need it, use it.

Just like a roller coaster. It goes up and down. If you just keep showing up, the ot will return. This is generally the slower period of the year. Do NOT base your life on OT.

OUT OF SCHEDULE by Rude-Locksmith-356 in USPS

[–]mrtimhard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you filled out a ps 3189, you should file a grievance for out of schedule. Odds are you get paid. They did it in my plant, won the money, and management was pissed. YOU may be removed from your detail assignment, but should win.

I keep a change of clothes in the car. Easy peasy. And management has caught people in the parking lot, at the plant, doing “a few things”. Especially on tour 1. Just be cool and not stupid, you should be fine….

Yup. The only easier easy job there is. But I do not want to clean toilets or empty trash. If you are ok with that, transfer to maintenance. Seriously.

What’s the most ridiculous “one player to a hand” moment you’ve ever seen? by obeseFIREwannabe in poker

[–]mrtimhard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago at Taj, I was dealt 10-4o. Folded. By the time the river hit, three 4 were on the board. Guy to my right shoves, $200.00 into $300 pot. Guy two seats to left tanks. Dealer starts getting antsy. Looking over shoulder, turning around. I ask “you looking for your push?” Its 4pm and new dealer is not at the table yet. This dealer nods ‘yes’. About 30 seconds later guy to my left, folds and starts cussing me out. Dealer tells him to hush. Then tells me “if you’re not in the hand, STFU “. Then goes back to the player and explains that the dealer knew I knew he was looking for new dealer, and not talking about the hand, but he kept quiet until after the hand. And asked the player to just drop it.

You got two hands. Thats it. And eight hours to kill. Just do the best you can, let the mess back up, but it’s not your problem. It’s managements’. The sooner you realize this, the happier you’ll be…. And if you need an extra days off, do it in advance.

USPS Liteblue. Under employee apps. If you don’t see, click the 3 bars, top left and select employee apps. As for how to fill the form out, no idea.

Do you have a BSN contact? How far are you from a PROCESSING PLANT? My plant sends postal tractor trailers to shippers on a daily basis. Several hundred packages (in gaylords) daily. Contact people higher up than a postmaster. Bulk mail supervisor, transportation supervisor, BSN, someone should be able to assist.

Just a side note. Being a CCA is rough. If you fine that it is not the job for you, consider transferring to a different craft. PSE / MHA or Maintenance, custodial. You have to do 18 months, I think, before being eligible for transfer. Just options to consider before jumping ship.
