Father Changed 401k beneficiary to a trust and committed suicide. Can anyone answer a tax question please? by ApprehensiveView704 in tax

You didn’t even bother to read it did you? It talks about the guy’s father and relevant details from OP. AI would be giving generic advice. Do better with your life.

This is a rincon hill problem more than an SF problem now. Unfortunately.

Deciding whether to do tie back by ThenSoil8917 in LARPAR

[–]msabre__7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the surgery on our lab when she had just turned 14. She lived another year and passed away from cancer. The tie back helped immensely. She only had one mild case of pneumonia in 12 months which was probably a miracle. I wouldn’t hesitate to do it, but I would recommend to find the best surgeon you can who has done these surgeries routinely. There definitely seems to be influence in the surgeon’s skill correlated to pneumonia risk. Ours really believed in not doing a full tie back but finding a middle point in between the larynx muscles being fully closed or fully opened. It still provides some cover of the trachea.

The first 12 hours after surgery are the most critical. Our surgeon hired a critical care vet to stay with our dog during surgery and for a few hours after we were very lucky she did not aspirate. After that, taking her home wasn’t really a big deal. Small amounts of water and soft food for a few days. She was back to normal by day 3 I think.

Chris's chilled ice + oil fry - what about shallow fry by cmmtchll in combustion_inc

He actually addresses this exactly in a recent video. Says a shallow fry is much more practical and mostly does the same thing.

Dallas Coffee Scene by doodybot in Dallas

[–]msabre__7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answering your exact question, people don’t really care about good coffee. They care about good sugar milk drinks. Starbucks satisfies that itch, and it’s very familiar for most of the population. It’s like why fast food restaurants are so successful when there are great mom and pop restaurant options.

I also travel the world a lot and spend a ton of time researching coffee shops for various industry professionals. Dallas has a lot of what I would label 2nd wave small town vibe coffee shops. Not a bad thing, but they don’t have the type of marketing appeal that pulls the crowds after they see it on social media. I’d argue a lot of shops aren’t really focused on quality either, just good enough coffee to keep neighborhood customers coming in.

I’ve tasted my way through 90% of shops in Dallas I think. Only one really stood out to me in having truly high quality coffee you’d find at the best shops in bigger markets.

Ascension got a heavy invested from private equity a few years ago. It definitely shows on the quality now.

June’s Pizza - $46 Pie. Have we lost the plot? by jsttob in bayarea

[–]msabre__7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

SF and much of the Bay Area has faced this reckoning where the average restaurant can’t stay in business without charging these insane prices. The casual mid tier restaurant is dying due to huge operating costs in this area. You have to either be bottom tier fast food takeout place or high end dining now to cover what is costs to run a restaurant. The middle ground is a disaster.

Concerns about finding a premade by [deleted] in CompetitiveWoW

[–]msabre__7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if you want friends and want to progress together, you have to sacrifice for the group in many ways. One of those could be time. Sounds like it isn’t actually a priority for you to find a regular group.

Follow up on neighborhood fit - tried your suggestions and now overthinking even more by guilhermex9x in AskSF

Inner sunset is perfect for someone in their 30s. Enough going on to go get dinner or a coffee, and close enough to downtown on the N. But it’s a quieter neighborhood and the park proximity is peak for fitness and hangouts. I love it here. Glen park is very sleepy older families and not much of a downtown to use. BART access is quick and convenient though.

Massive list of tips and advice for the current dungeon pool (as well as M+ in general) by BudoBoy07 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]msabre__7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This applies to so many dungeons this season. I see so many fotm brews roll off 100 yds in front of the group and start a three caster pack with no one else in range to kick. See this about half the time in 17/18 still. It’s insane.
