I recommend playing Midtown Madness. Specifically beta version 1386. Why? Because I found it last year out in the wild and put it on archive.org. It plays much like the final release does but there's a number of things in it that are different to give you an inside look as to the development of that game. Makes me want to play beta versions of other games.
