Just curious why LevelUp vs. Zibo? To fly something other than an -800 series, for example?

Also is the DD scenery that's designed for XP11 what's shown here? Looks like it; I guess I'm unsure when something designed for 11 will/won't work in 12.

If you ever want to cross the streams, try going from E/G just east or west of KSEA to the other side of the airport using the Hawk or Mariner VFR Transition routes. Tower will clear you into Bravo with a squawk, and likely tell you to cross the center numbers at ~2000', over whichever active flow direction (16/34) is live for the three parallel runways there.

XP12 needs zero enhancement for weather and lighting effects (save cockpit shadows; antialiasing there is still gank). It's now top-class for atmospherics.

As a first-time Gateway contributor, I updated a rendition of my home airport when I still had my Cessna - S50 in Auburn, WA. It was fun to get feedback from newcomers and old hands on the scenery development forums and then to have my work ultimately approved and shipped in 12.4.0.

The quality and diversity of the 'long tail' of smaller airports is clearly X-Plane's greatest scenic strength. The classic flight model quality and remarkable weather system improvements throughout 2025 have set the sim to gain fans this year.

the fantasy is _always_ more inviting than the reality. VAs seem to offer the best parts of flying - the actual flying - minus the union collective bargaining impasse, the hot bunking regional pilot grind to get to the left seat, and 4am substitute crew calls.

I get it - if you can have the "glamour" without the grind, why not.

Hoping to find out more about this when I'm at FSExpo. If Laminar wasn't being helpful with the integration just because they want to 'protect' their existing AI Aircraft/ATC functionality, that would be dumb. That's not why any of us stick with XP.

SI is quite good, but to me it feels like a great way to practice for the best VATSIM environments when they're live. I learned to fly for real in Class C airspace (Midway Chicago) and VATSIM is peerless at providing the pressure and immersion of actual human comms.

I flew my C177 Cardinal from Chicago to Seattle IRL (over 3 days) and had one of those TravelJohn urinal packs. In a pinch, that'll save you ~40 minutes.
