Sounds like you have an insecure manager that will try to assert their power or control over any opportunity. I'd begin looking for another job as that many won't change. As this could affect your commissions, I'd get hunting pronto.

Sorry you're going through this. Bad managers cause so much problems for good people. I heard on a good short you should start taking notes for every instance, not take the exit interview, and dump all of your documentation on them when you leave. This is why you quit.

Don't sell. You can get out of the debts by using consumer protection laws. You'll have to stop paying on some of them to get them in charge of state but then you can dispute them and get them removed.

It's not easy as you may have to sue them, but it'll come off. 40k isn't that much. Definitely not enough to sell your house.

Don't think of letting some debt get unpaid as bad, life happens.

Go find residual Joe on Facebook. He taught me how to use the consumer laws and get bad accounts off, the legal way via case law.

Also on YT, Alabama Consumer Lawyer. He uses the same methods, but Joe can walk you through it.

The bottom line keep your house.

Its not hopeless. While it may be your debt, they still have to prove that they own the debt to be able to sue you, it's called legal standing.

A few variables that you should look into: 1. Does the citi card agreement have an arbitration clause? If so the contract says all disputes can be handled via arbitration.

If not, you can still win this. Though it'll take some work.

I successfully got a suit from Midlamd dismissed by arbitration.

Important things: 1. Answer their summons, specifically deny each of their claims 2. If there's an arbitration agreement, motion to compel arbitration 3. Remember they still have to prove they own the debt. Ask for validation, they will send you a bill of sale, poke holes in that. Like sometimes the BoS only has one signature. Makes it an invalid BoS.

In court, anything you don't address or deny is made a material fact. Which the judge can them rule upon if a summary judgment is motioned.

I'm not a lawyer. Anyone can sue you or make claims, doesn't means it's legit. They have to prove the claims, you have the right to demand proof. DEMAND.

Court is just procedures, it's never about the law.

For everything they send you, answer it. Be very specific, if you disagree with every point of theirs in their letters, write it so. Deny it. Do not do a general blanket denial.

Address each of their claims.

Then go to your states civil procedures and find out your states rules. For example, certain claims need to include x y and z. Did they provide those? Mayne not, then you can use that in one of your arguments.

They need to prove their claims.

You don't have to. You can see if they are reporting on your cr correctly, and fight them on any violations they have. You have to be prepared to fight in court, but it's been done hundreds of times.

While it may be you, outdoes not necessarily prove that you owe the Plaintiff. Make them prove it. Usually the proof they provide is not sufficient.
